Up for sale is my 2016 Cayman GT4. I purchased the car in Nov 2020 from a dealership and am the third owner. Over the past 3.5 years I have added almost 4000 miles and enjoyed every single one. It is my weekend car and is not a track car. I have taken it to three HPDE events at New Jersey Motorsport Park.
Attached is the PPI report from when I purchased it in 2020, which includes the DME report. Also attached are two Carfax reports. Why two? The first Carfax was from the dealer I purchased from. It shows a clean bill of health. Note the date of 11/2020. Fast forward to now. In preparation for the sale I obtained a new Carfax to show my dealer services. I came to know that Carfax retroactively added accidents. They pre-date the first Carfax report. I’m pretty upset and have been engaging with Carfax to no avail.
I managed to get in contact with the first owner (his listing from years ago: https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...ed-w-lwbs.html). He confirmed there was never an accident under his ownership. This contradicts the Carfax. Even more odd is the accident date is listed as the same date when owner 2 purchased the car. I can’t see how that is possible and have flagged that with Carfax.
To price, I looked back at 1 year of confirmed sales on classic.com. Closest relevant comparable: https://carsandbids.com/auctions/Kdm...che-cayman-gt4. It too has an accident record. Please keep in mind the buyer pays a 5% fee on that site bringing that car to $91k. Notable differences: my car has higher mileage, my car also has carbon bucket seats, premium color (Carmine), 1/2 as many owners, better condition tires (2/32 vs 5/32) and IMHO is in better shape (see known flaws section of that listing).
The car has performed flawlessly. The sound of the Dundon header and Porsche Sports Exhaust is intoxicating (see video). It will be sad to see it go, but I’m excited to get into something different. I hope it goes to a good home.
Here's a video comparo my friend did featuring my GT4 and his Evora GT:
I commented on Facebook to your listing, do you have the stock exhaust? Will it pass smog as is? No current DME?
Hi. I did not get a new DME report in prep for the sale. If a buyer is willing to fund, I am happy to take it to a dealer for a fresh DME report. I do not have the stock exhaust. I can only answer the smog question for NJ. In NJ some stations no longer do visual inspection. They simply do the OBD II test. It would pass there. Although it may pass others depending on whether a technician knows where to look for cats on a mid engine boxer motor.

so does the new exhaust not contain cats?
id think that would trigger dash lights, are there any dash lights?
Bummer, while I could license in a place like Montana (many do), and not need cats, I live in San Diego and here, well smogging the car is a must if you license it in state, certainly reselling would be more difficult in the future.

If you are interested in buying this car I would trade you my OEM Cats for the Dundon
GLWS I just purchased my 3rd GT4 in 8 years last week, whoever buys this car at this price is amazing! my 1st GT4 which the msrp when new was 97k sold from a dealer for around the same price as your last month, it had 50k miles 1 accident and over revs all the way thru range 6
If any potential buyer wants OEM cats I'll trade you for the dundon. beautiful car!
This is a spectacular deal, especially considering how well appointed this car is, even has the leather covered steering column, this must have been a high sticker originally.
