Hello all! I have a really cool sign for sale. This is a Porsche 911 hood from a 1984 Carrera that has been converted into an illuminated neon sign. It’s refinished in Viola Purple and features the black Safety Stripe decal which is a popular option for the 911’s. The three rectangular stripes and the 911 script of the safety stripes are outlined by purple neon lights mounted above. The lights are held and fixed in place by copper wires that are tied to special brackets that are screwed to the face of the hood. The hood is affixed to an enclosed metal rectangular frame on the back side of the hood that contains the power supply unit and acts as a bracket for mounting. The support structure is composed of a metal frame that features two eye hooks bolted on top of the frame so it can be hung from a ceiling and has two L brackets on the top and bottom so it can be mounted onto a wall. The neon lights are powered by a power supply unit rated for 120v which is secured inside the enclosure and plugs into any 120v outlet. A small metal chain hangs from the side of the frame to provide an easy toggle on/off switch. A wooden crate is provided to hold and protect the hood from damage and help with transportation. Dimensions are approximately 54" Tall x 45" Wide x 12" Deep. Perfect for any car garage, museum, sign collection or showroom.
