Description:

After a year and a half of ownership, it’s time to move on. This car was my first journey into the “modern” era of 911’s after solely owning air-cooled Porsches.  What a difference!!! I have to admit, the power and refinery of this Porsche was not expected and I thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday cruises on Bergen county highways.  However, this experience made me realize how much I was missing out on other more sport-centric versions of the 911. This 997 only opened up my appetite to seek out other models and so I’ve decided to list it for sale while I enter my new phase of something more spirited.

Listing for sale is my well maintained 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera 2S coupe with under 43k miles. It was purchased in January 2023 from a PCA member on Rennlist based out of Virginia.  The car is powered by a 3.8-liter flat-six paired with a 6-speed manual transaxle and is finished in Meteor Grey Metallic over black leather upholstery. Options include the Sport Chrono Package Plus, 19” Carrera Classic wheels, Bose High End sound package, Porsche Active Suspension Management, Heated front seats, Bluetooth Phone interface, and Dynamic cornering headlights. This 997.2 C2S coupe comes with service records, 2 sets of keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean NJ state title. The car has never been tracked and has a clean DME report.

The car is finished in Meteor Grey Metallic (961) and features a power sunroof, a speed-activated rear spoiler, bi-xenon headlights, dynamic cornering lights, and quad exhaust outlets. Paint protection film (PPF) was applied on the front of the car up to and including the side mirrors. Imperfections are shown in photos provided in the gallery below.

The 19” Carrera Classic wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires measuring 235/35 up front and 295/30 at the rear. The front and rear tires show 2016 date codes. Braking is handled by multi-piston Porsche-branded brake calipers fitted over cross-drilled and vented rotors at all four corners. The car is equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) as well as Porsche Stability Management (PSM), an active brake differential (ABD), and Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR).

The 3.8-liter 9A1 flat-six features direct fuel injection, VarioCam Plus variable valve timing, and a factory-rated output of 385 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Results from a DME report are viewable in the gallery below.

A 40k mile service was performed by PO. Service included new fluids, plugs, and coil packs. Pressure fuel pump replaced in Aug’ 2021 at 36k miles. Upgrades performed include Fister Sport Exhaust & Softronic Performance tune (385hp to 410hp). Under my care, regular oil and filter changes. Added Emc2 Design aero trim to front and rear bumpers. Always garage kept.

Recommended items to look after:  Due for new tires based on age (2016), brake pads (30% rear, 60% front), and front bump stop. Also, the “C” in Carrera emblem is chipped at top end. There’s a very small bubble near the driver window switch. Front bumper has two dimples and two vertical indentations (I believe these came from a euro plate mounting bracket).

For those who will be concerned with Bore score- These are the newer engines (9A1) where bore score is much less common than the M96/M97 engines found in the earlier models of the 997.1. Signs that an engine has bore score include burning oil, smoke at start up, soot, and dirty tailpipes.  None of those symptoms are present here.  A PPI is welcomed, and I can help facilitate. PowerTech in Rockaway, NJ is a well-known Porsche specialist in North Jersey and can perform the PPI.  Additional pics, cold-start videos can also be provided.  Photo album here:  https://photos.app.goo.gl/u4njFVgdoTL4YPMb8
