Are these the same size as stock. I’m looking for more coverage on my 991 nb than stock offers.
Good question. 991 MagnaFins are larger than the OEM clear stone guards for that very reason. They line up along the wheel well with the OEM but go slightly taller and wider on the door side. In the right light you can see the edge of the OEM under. See photo below. Look closely and you can see the "panty line" of the OEM under.
But at most angles its not apparent This angle taken seconds later is closer in but the line under doesn't show.
MagnaFin Magnetic Stone Guards won't go as low as the OEM clears, because the magnet can't make the sharp curve at the rocker panel. But to me, it looks better to stop them at the rocker vs going over. Over the rocker: 991 Speedster with OEM black vinyl shark fins. Seems like they should go lower to the textured panel, right?
IMHO, it looks better stopping just above the rocker
Here's a few pics of the WrapFin on a local GT3. Matte Black + Texture WrapFin on 992 GT3
Shane, I just placed my order with you. I have an arctic gray Touring and selected the matte black option. Is the picture of the blue GT3 above matte black or is that the high gloss black?
Thanks for the order Armin. The WrapFin on the shark blue car above is matte black. Do you still have the clear OEM guards on your car? I have a new smaller size (see below) for cars with the OEM guards. It's about 1/16 of an inch smaller so the whole black WrapFin stays on the clear and doesn't have to go over the edge of the clear and adhere to the paint. Let me know which size to have made. Feel free to PM, email, whatever is easy.
