Description:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...-930-turbo-15/

This 1976 Porsche 930 Turbo is a European-market example that was sold new in Germany and later imported to the US under previous ownership. It is finished in white with gold “turbo” side graphics over tan Nappa leather with Pepita cloth inserts, and power is provided by a 3.0-liter flat-six that was overhauled in 2019 and is paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Features include a sunroof, a whale tail rear spoiler, air conditioning, power windows, a MOMO steering wheel, a short-shifter kit, and a Blaupunkt stereo with Bluetooth connectivity. The car was previously listed on BaT in October 2022 and again in August 2023 before it was acquired by the seller two months later, and work under current ownership reportedly consisted of repainting the engine bay, repairing a dent, and powder-coating the replacement 16″ Fuchs wheels in gold. This 930 Turbo was featured in a May 2023 BaT Success Story and is now offered in Texas with a tool kit, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.

The body was finished in Copper Brown Metallic from the factory and was repainted in white under previous ownership. Equipment includes a power-operated sunroof, fog lights, a whale tail spoiler, a rear wiper, headlight washers, dual side mirrors, and European-specification rear bumperettes. Paint correction was performed, LED lights were installed, the sunroof seals and washer nozzles were replaced, and gold “turbo” side graphics were applied in 2022. The seller notes that a dent was repaired under current ownership.

Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels were powder-coated gold under current ownership and are mounted with Riken Raptor tires measuring 225/50 up front and 245/50 out back. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated discs, and the brakes and suspension were reportedly overhauled by a previous owner.

The cabin was re-trimmed in 2022 with work including reupholstering the seats in tan with Pepita cloth inserts, dyeing the door and trim panels, and replacing the carpets and sun visors. Rennline pedals and billet dash ***** were added along with a mahogany shift ****, a RennShift short-shift kit, Coco mats, aftermarket speakers, and a Blaupunkt stereo with Bluetooth connectivity.

A MOMO steering wheel and 1″ hub extension were installed in 2022 along with a Heuer Trackmaster timing set on the passenger side of the dashboard. Instrumentation consists of a centrally mounted tachometer with an inset boost pressure gauge, a 300-km/h speedometer, combination gauges, and an analog clock, all of which were rebuilt under previous ownership. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 96k kilometers (~59k miles). Total mileage is unknown.

The 3.0-liter flat-six was overhauled in 2019 by Fabson Engineering of Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Work included refurbishing the cylinder heads, connecting rods, crankshaft, rocker arm shafts, fuel distributor, and turbocharger as well as replacing the piston rings, timing chains and tensioners, bearings, fuel accumulator, fuel injectors, oil lines, and CDI ignition box. Aftermarket cylinder head studs and a Tial wastegate were also installed. Service under previous ownership included an overhaul of the fuel-injection system as well as the replacement of the fuel accumulator, the front and rear crankshaft seals, and the turbocharger and exhaust seals. Per the seller, the paint around the engine bay was refreshed and replacement engine bay stickers were subsequently added. An oil leak is present from the crankcase, and smoke is emitted from the tailpipe during a cold start.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. The CV axle joints were greased and the boots replaced in 2023, the exhaust and fan were powder-coated, and the underside of the car was detailed using dry-ice cleaning.
