Description:

Highly-optioned 2016 Carmine Red Cayman GT4 with an original sticker of $120,520 has been meticulously maintained and carefully upgraded for preventative maintenance and performance. Over $20,000 invested in the past 18 months.

I’ve added ~7k miles to the odometer. I have tracked the car, and I’ve maintained it with a perfectionist attitude, investing significantly in safety and care. The DME is clean (zones 1 and 2 only).

This is the perfect dual-use road and track Porsche.

Year: 2016
Model: Cayman GT4 (981)
Color : Carmine Red
Miles : 19,xxx

Highlights:

  • Highest-optioned of only 138 Carmine Red cars
  • Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB)
  • Porsche Lightweight Bucket Seats (LWBS)
  • Entire car is covered in Paint Protection Film
  • Track-ready with BBi rollbar, Schroth 6pt. Harnesses, and steel rotors (PCCBs come with the car)
  • Oil change 15 Feb ‘23
  • New MPSC2s 27 Apr ‘22 (~1k miles ago)

Options from the Factory:

Improvements

Salter Aero Wing Risers - $1,700

Salter Aero wing risers look like stock Porsche parts. They raise the rear wing 4”, placing it in the flow of air and increasing rear downforce. They’re no longer available, and many ask to buy them from me. Original Porsche wing risers included.

RSS Carbon Fiber Canards (2+1 extra) -$1,100

These provide small additional front-end downforce, but their primary appeal is aesthetic. They look fantastic, and I’ve had many people ask to buy them from me. The RSS Canards are also no longer available and highly sought-after.

NM Automotive Apple CarPlay and Android Auto - $600

Wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through a piggyback module on the PCM. Just select the “AUX” input and hold down “Info”. Works flawlessly.

Manthey Racing Side Intake Grilles - $500

Mesh intake grilles keep debris from the side air intakes. Especially important if you take the car on track.

718 GT4 Black Steering Wheel Trim - $350

The 981 GT4’s steering wheel has silver trim. Replacing that with the updated 718 GT4 steering wheel center updates the look of the cabin. Original silver center comes with the car.

Designsbyjacob Seat Recliner Brackets - $200

US regulations required Porsche to fit the GT4 seats in an almost uncomfortable vertical position (close to the airbag). These simple brackets add 3 degrees of recline to the LWBS, making them more comfortable and making it possible to wear a helmet in the car.

AWE Wind Diffusers - $90

A stock Cayman GT4 has terrible wind buffeting over 70mph. These simple deflectors eliminate buffeting with the windows down.

Track Prep

Giro Disc Steel Brake Conversion - $7,000

Porsche’s PCCBs are fantastic brakes, but they’re not ideal for track use; they’re very expensive to replace (~$20k). Giro Disc hats and friction material are separate, reducing cost by allowing you to replace just the friction material.

The car runs AFP Porsche GT3 Clubsport track pads, Spiegler stainless steel brake lines, and Endless RF650 Brake Fluid.

The PCCBs and pads are stored safely and come with the car.

BBi StreetCup Bolt-In Roll Bar and Sub-Belt Mount - $3,100

The name in track day roll bars, BBi makes a fantastic kit that requires minimal interior modification. It looks like a stock part and provides mounting points for the Schroth Harnesses.

2x Schroth Profi 6pt Harnesses in Black - $1,100

Porsche’s preferred supplier for harnesses, Schroth provides harnesses for the GT3RS cars. These 6pt. harnesses are

Tarett Engineering Rear Toe Links - $400

Significantly reduces rear-end bump steer, increasing grip during braking and at corner exit. The GT4 understeers by default. These toe links are the first mandatory upgrade to the suspension.

H3R Halguard Dry Chem Fire Extinguisher and Seat Mount - $500

The car wasn’t optioned with a fire extinguisher but includes the best available (Halguard) mounted in front of the passenger’s seat.

Track Nanny GPS-based Exhaust Controller - $1,100

The Track Nanny uses GPS to automatically close exhaust valves at pre-programmed locations, quieting the car so it passes sound at tracks like Laguna Seca.

Rennline Screw-In Tow Hook - $180

Most track events require a tow hook. The Rennline hook looks flash and is super sturdy. It also folds away.

Preventative Maintenance

Porsche Motorsports Front Shock Tower Braces - $1,000

981 GT4’s front shocks (like the GT3’s) mount to aluminum castings under the front trunk. That cast aluminum can’t take much force, and a number of 981 GT4 owners have had the shock come straight through the hood. SP Motorsports in Hayward, CA adapted the Porsche Motorsports shock tower braces for the GT4, and I’ve had them installed as preventative maintenance.

Engine Cam Actuator Bolt Upgrade - $1,500

The 981 GT4’s motor has a poorly-designed aluminum bolt on the cam actuator. This bolt has the tendency to come loose, which results in a destroyed engine (and $25k in repair bills). I’ve had the bolt replaced with steel to eliminate that possibility.

   Any questions? Let me know.

This is a well-put-together car and advertisement!
Not every GT4 owner is conscientious enough to do cam adjuster bolt preventative care.
You can feel the love of the car.

You are in my neck of the wood. Who installed "NM Automotive Apple CarPlay and Android Auto" for you?

GLWS.

Thanks! I've been very particular with the GT4. It's a stellar car.

The unit came with the car (uninstalled) when I bought it, and I installed it myself. That's a process not for the faint of heart, but it does work very well. Nick Marquis @ NM Automotive does offer a comprehensive install manual with his products (and answers questions really quickly).

This car is stunning. I'm most likely a 5 minute walk away, if any out-of-state buyers want me to check it out for them I'd be happy to

Is this the part? There's no front picture of them so I can't tell they're black.

Pretty sure it's this one, but worth calling Suncoast to make sure:
