Description:

Hello Fellow Rennlisters!

Up for sale is my 2001 911 996 C2 in Arctic Silver over black. This is a driver's car. It has a completely refreshed suspension with all new arms and bushings underneath, completed in 2021. That means every single arm and bushing is less than 2 years old. Feal Coilovers and Eibach front and rear anti-sway bars with Power Grid drop links were also installed and properly set up around the same time. Rear Camber is kept in spec via adjustable Tarrett toe arms. Engine mounts were also replaced in 2021 with direct replacement parts to avoid any issues. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires were installed in August 2022. The end result is a firmer than stock, yet very compliant and great handling car for the street. Very tight. It's a pleasure to drive and is my daily driver.

The IMS, RMS, clutch, timing chain/Variocam guides/pads, AOS, water pump, and coolant expansion tank all changed in late 2021 by well known Porsche experts, TuneRS Motorsports. Still under warranty until November 2023.

Shifting is precise, with a Numeric shifter set at the middle setting for rifle-bolt feel. I've tried all three settings. For effortless buttery smooth shifting use the first setting, and for very deliberate and sporty feel, use the last setting. I find the middle to be a nice compromise. I have Numeric cables, but took them off, as they were too noisy for my taste and provided not enough improvement for the audible interference. They are available if the buyer wants them.

The Sport Seats are actually a very dark charcoal grey color from either a 997 911 or 987 Cayman. They are a significant upgrade from the standard 996 seats and just give the car a completely different look and feel as soon as you get in it. A 3-spoke steering wheel was installed to replace the 4-spoke version that came with the car. Much better aesthetic and feel, in my opinion.

The headlights were upgraded in September 2022 to the Retrofitlabs/Adrian Tail Lights kit with all new projectors and reflectors to update the factory Litronics. Visibility is vastly improved, with the addition of fresh Philips Xtreme Vision 2 4800K bulbs at the same time. The stereo is tastefully upgraded with a Pioneer amp, modest 8" subwoofer, head unit, and door speakers. The rear speakers are made by Polk, and the dash speakers are the popular CAI Store upgrade kit.

The wheels were repainted in winter 2022 to dark grey center with a machined/polished lip. A K&N intake system came on the car when I purchased it. I took it off briefly in favor of a stock air box, but immediately regretted the decision. The K&N intake just sounded too good compared to the stock, and with no scientific data to back it up, I also feel the K&N provides a noticeable HP increase.

A few minor issues to disclose... it does sporadically throw code for Secondary Air Injection (SAI). I was going to reflash it with a ROW flash to get rid of it, but decided to leave that to the next owner. It is really just an annoyance with no danger to the engine or performance impact. It does have the common foam coming through the vents issue. A/C is still ice cold enough to cool quickly in South Florida heat, and the heater works flawlessly as well. The front bumper, roof rail covers and rear spoiler deck lid vent could use a respray if I'm being picky.

Would also consider trades for a Panamera or similar sedan or 4 door coupes (no SUVs or trucks please). Depending on year/model/condition trade it could be a + or - cash transaction. The reason I'm selling is to have a larger car to do things with my boys and I presently don't have space for another vehicle.

Thanks

Thanks everyone for your questions. It wasn't until I went through all the things I have done to the car that I realized how much ridiculous I am about maintenance and records. I have a tabbed binder with all receipts, organized by category and date.

I'll consolidate some of the things I've told others in messages in case others are wanting to know the same.

BTW, I just drove it and I'm not exaggerating when I say this might be one of the smoothest running NA 3.4L M96 engines in the world. Buttery smooth and crisp power delivery. Rock solid handling and steering feel.

Some additional details...
  • It does come with two (2) x fully functioning keys
  • The IMSB upgrade it has is a permanent solution, with direct oil feed and should never need to be replaced again
  • It has an OEM GT3 center console delete
  • Leather wrapped horseshoe upper console trim with deviated stitching
  • Cylinder heads inspected, cleaned and valve job to like-new condition (2021)
  • New oil cooler (2021)
  • All new radiator hoses (2021)
  • injectors cleaned refurbished and blueprinted (2021)
  • New spark plugs and tubes (2021)
  • New Interstate AGM battery (December 2022)
  • Cocomat floor mats in the front

I mean I'm not trying to ruin it for potential buyers but your car is too cheap. The condition and mods and maintance suggests a $30k car to me.

She is beautiful, good luck.

You definitely gave someone a great car in an awesome condition. Sorry to see you leave the 996 family. If you find a 13 or 14 cayenne gts as long as the transfer case has been replaced those are awesome and will keep you on the porsche family. I personally don’t know much at all about the panameras to comment on them. Wish you the best.
