Description:
1988 944S running project car, race car or parts car
I have endeavored for some six years to create a streetcar with minimal modern conveniences to replace my Sports Purpose 1967 911S. The intent was to create a 944S in the context of what Porsche might have produced as a Sports Purpose 944S in the year 1967: i.e., a totally analog and Performance Oriented sports car.
Health issues force sale.
I have reworked much of the platform to this end only to realize the Microsquirt fuel/ignition system is beyond my aptitude and desire to commit to learning its language. It pains me to quit this project so close to the end but I am weary and need to let it go to someone with more aptitude and commitment.
The chassis is straight and rust free and much of the vehicle has been transformed to be very analog with new wiring harness, upgraded suspension and elimination of all power assisted “conveniences”.
To the above I offer what items have been upgrades or replaced and a list of extras to help finish out the project. The car would need painting to be “pretty” and the interior is ready for the new owner’s installation: think 924 GTS as what my concept is.
The car is currently free of smog components and is drive-able but optimization of the Microsquirt is required.
I purchased in 2016 from owner in El Paso who bought car from owner in Albuquerque in 2012. Previous owner from Southern California. Car had 123,900 miles on odometer when I acquired it. Total mileage since then is limited as it has been a project car for the duration of my ownership, perhaps 500 miles total have been added.
So: Car is a project close to the end and streetable in a non-smog society. Alternately it is a race car or a parts car.

Oil pressure is steady at 50 lbs.
