Description:
Champion RS98, forged monolite wheels made in Japan. These were on my 997.1 TT when I purchased it this fall. They are a NB fitment but work well on the Turbo with 20mm rear spacers which I'm happy to include (ECS spacers inc extended lugs). These will work on a 996 (NB or WB) or 997 (NB or WB).
- 19x8.5 ET53 front
- 19x11.5 ET62 rear
- TPMS & Porsche Center Caps included
Bridgestone RE-71R were installed by prior owner at 53,500mi (I have original receipt) and they were removed at 60k (so 6,500 miles total). They are evenly worn and have plenty of life. I just found a nail in the passenger side rear that I am willing to get plugged prior to sale (pictured). UPDATE - Passenger rear was successfully plugged and rebalanced.
- Stock Turbo tire fitment - 235/35 & 295/30
From the Champion Motorsport website:
"If the RS98 looks familiar to you, then you've certainly got a keen eye. Essentially, the RS98 shares the same spoke pattern as the RS171, but in a "lipped" design, giving the spokes a slightly shorter appearance. The addition of the diamond cut and polished outer lip allows us to give the wheels a staggered appearance, making them seem wider and more aggressive, and also makes it suitable for a broader range of fitments then the RS171.
From a performance standpoint, the RS98 makes no compromises in weight or strength. Depending on diameter and width, the RS98 ranges from 19.5 to 23 pounds, making it an average of 4-5 pounds lighter per wheel then comparable 3-piece wheels. Each wheel begins its life as a solid piece of A6061 aluminum, heat treated to T6 standards, and then forged using an 8000 pound press. This process insures a perfectly even distribution of material and results in 40,000 pounds per square inch of yield strength in the wheel material, making it nearly 10 times stronger then cast wheels. Each wheel is then finished in our signature Brilliant Silver, giving it a beautiful finish that is durable enough to withstand the rigors of daily use.
The RS98 is available in 19 inch fitments for all 996, 997, Cayman, and Boxster models, with widths ranging from 8.0 to 12 inches."
