I'm begrudgingly buying a home with very limited parking so I have to sell some cars. Asking $53,000
Up for sale is my 2003 996 turbo coupe with 6-speed in arctic silver over black. I've only had it about 9 or 10 months but it has been a phenomenal ride. I did an 800 mile round trip to Orlando in March and it never skipped a beat. These 996tt's are so much fun to get out on the open road.
I searched for a while to find a stock Turbo nearby. This one is stock except for the 997 wheels which were on it from a PO. I do not have the original twists.
New Michelin PS4 tires when I bought it at about 71k miles. New plugs and coils at that time too. It has been serviced by Porsche of Destin in December 2021. I installed the metal light savers on the taillights. These are the original taillights and, as usual, they have the 2 small cracks at the top of both lenses. I do not have receipts for any work prior to my ownership but the carfax shows regular service throughout the life of the car almost exclusively by dealers. Carfax indicates a "minor" incident 10 years ago, but that was far enough in the past that it didn't bother me since it checked out in PPI. There are no signs of damage either cosmetically or mechanically, and the vehicle performs like it should. There is a wear spot on the right bolster of the passenger seat (shown in photos) that has had some repair attempted. The driver's side mirror has some scrapes on the underside and some peeling clear coat. There are some slight chips on the hood near the emblem and one very small scratch adjacent to the rear window (shown in photo in google drive). Overall this is a very good looking vehicle.
I've kept the car in a garage but I did purchase a rain-proof cover and I'll include it. There is only 1 key.
My 996TT was my favorite of three 911s -- just a great all-round car. Seller is well-known and respected in the G-wagen community, so this has likely been very well-cared for.

Thank you Pete in DC. Yes long time Gwagen addict here. The 996TT is an amazing machine. Like a classic Gwagen, you get a pure driving experience with just the right amount of refinement.
Great vehicle, i'm interested but out of state. Are you willing to go through the hassle to ship? Do you have the prior PPI report? I tried to message you but wasn't able to, perhaps because i just joined. If you could PM me, I'd love to exchange numbers to discuss further. Thank you.

. Shipping is not a problem. I do have the PPI from when I bought it. I have setup an extra gmail account to handle selling this car. You can email me at buymy996turbo at gmail (very original, I know). Shoot me an email there and I’ll forward the PPI.
I've been asked for the PPI from when I bought the car, so I just attached a copy to this thread.
The PPI mentioned "multi cylinder misfire codes". When the PO took the car to the PPI shop he said the CEL came on. Seemed coincidental but sometimes cars seem to "know" when you're trying to sell them. The shop was sure that plugs/coils would fix the issue. I got the price down a bit and then ordered the work to be done.
Shortly after I took possession the CEL came back on. Symptoms were rough idle that would even stall the car sometimes if I didn't have my foot on the clutch. I bought a scanner and started troubleshooting -- the Rennlist 996 Turbo forum was a huge help. I found that if I unplugged the MAP and clear codes, the idle would improve. I doubted the MAP was the problem and suspected a boost leak. So I took it to Porsche of Destin who initially wanted to replace the MAP -- they said "hey the MAP was unplugged and when we plug it back in, the idle problem came back". I really had to get prescriptive with them until they finally pulled the bumper and found a loose hose. Problem was solved with that. It's been 7 months, including my 800 mile round trip to Orlando, and the CEL has not returned.
I'll never know if the PPI shop knocked a hose loose when they did the spark plug job, or if the hose was already loose. I suspect they would have noticed the rough idle beforehand, but they never mentioned that.
It looks like the car has had some paint work….front grills were not ordered body color. Do you know when that happened and the quality? Did you fix the suspension issues found during the PDI at 71k miles
Any idea if the clutch or coolant lines have been done?
I am very interested, just want to know how much money it might take to make this a perfect daily driver.

I don't have any history on paintwork. As mentioned in the description, there are some small stone chips around the emblem, but the paint looks really good imo. The grill inserts appear to have been painted separately from the bumper because the seams around the inserts are clean and not oversprayed. When I bought it, the splitter was color-matched but badly scraped at the center so I replaced it.
Regarding your question about suspension: the PPI mentioned axle boots. When I got the PPI back, I asked the shop about it and they said the minor wear didn't warrant replacement at that time. The things they did suggest replacing -- tires, plugs, coils, brake fluid -- were all done.
Clutch and coolant lines: There are no records for either. The clutch shows no signs of slipping like when you get increasing RPMs without the associated increase in MPH.
The vehicle was serviced at Porsche of Plano for many years, and I have tried to get in touch with a service manager there to inquire about some of the history, but I can't get them to call me back.
