Description:

I purchased the car in 2012 from an enthusiast who had purchased it from a restorer in California. When I received the car, it had 78,000 miles on it and both previous owners believed the miles were original. I have driven the car two or three times a week both in city traffic and on freeways. Current mileage is 86,300.

The restorer in California installed a Sebring exhaust system, rebuilt the carburetors and fuel pump, and tuned the carburetors. Fuchs wheels were polished and painted.

The enthusiast I purchased the car from had a new horn installed, adjusted the pedal push rod assembly, replaced the shifter brushings and ball cup, adjusted the shifter linkage, adjusted the valves, cleaned the carburetor’s venturis, and synchronized the carburetors. The car passed state inspection and has successfully passed inspection very year since 2012.

In 2011 the car was painted Porsche silver by Munich Bodywerk on Star Avenue in Houston.
The car was carefully taken apart, windows, doors, hood, and trunk. A few few superficial rust spots were found and repaired. New rubber seals were installed for the windshield, rear window, doors, and trunk. New chrome mirrors (Durant style which are period correct), chrome front and rear bumper trim, new chrome front bumperettes, new chrome air inlets (front) and new amber front light covers were installed.

The Bridgestone tires have a little over 10,000 miles on them and running the car often as I have resulted in tires that are in good condition. Carpets are in excellent condition and rubber mats are included. Alpine stereo with CD and iPod input is installed with door speakers and rear headrest speakers.

Over the last nine years the following repairs and improvements have been made,

Lights for license plate, trunk, glove box, and emergency brake indicator were made operational.

Hatch for gas cap has new spring.

Front seats are now fully adjustable forward and back.

CV Joints and rear axles were replaced.

Drivers’ door window crank mechanism was repaired.

Distributer was replaced.

Coil was replaced.

Motor compartment tin was installed.

Windshield washer system was installed.

The car has been garaged for the last nine plus years.

Some basics

1.6L four-cylinder engine turning out 102 HP.

Five speed manual transmission.

Runs well on premium unleaded.

This car is very simple to maintain.

I have enjoyed this car over the years. It is fun to drive and easy to maintain. I have recently retired, and I am looking forward to travelling so having this car idle would not be good for it. I am looking for an enthusiast who would enjoy driving or a collector who is interested in taking this car to a higher level of excellence.
