Description:
I am the 2nd owner of this fantastic track-prepped Carmine Red 981 GT4. This is a turn-key track car set up for any level of driver. It is registered and street legal and actually rides quite well if you turn the compression all the way down for street driving.
The only reason I am selling after only purchasing it 12 months ago is because I've been fortunate enough to be in a position to pull the trigger on a 991.2 GT3 that recently came up for sale (but not fortunate enough to own both at the same time). Otherwise, I would have continued down the upgrade path and probably ended up with a 4.5L beast.
The first owner was a PCA member in the Northeast and had the car serviced at Bodymotion who is well known for their experience running GT4 Clubsports in IMSA. That is to say, this car has an excellent service history and has been under the ownership of two experienced car/track enthusiasts with a no-expense-spared attitude toward the hobby. I have all of the service records and receipts on hand for interested buyers.
The car has obviously been tracked and about half of the odometer miles are track miles. I've only put about 1,400 miles on it over 5-6 track days and it has been obsessively maintained.
The body has a couple of small blemishes - one small ding above the windshield (dime sized, could be PDR'd) and one of similar size on the rear right quarter (also could be PDR'd).
I've done some of the work on the car myself and have entrusted Honest Assembly Garage here in Denver with any work that I don't have time for. The car has been fully set up (corner balance / alignment) and can run 1:56s at High Plains Raceway on street tires. My intention with this build was to build a light car with medium downforce with enough power to take advantage of the mechanical and aero grip. The car weighs in at 3130lbs with a half tank of gas in its current setup and makes over double the amount of stock downforce.
All decals will be removed prior to delivery to new owner.
Full disclosure:
The car did undergo a cylinder head replacement on Bank 1 (passenger side) last year due to the VarioCam adjuster bolts shearing on that side.
This is a well-documented issue on the 9A1 engines, and steel bolts have been installed to prevent this from happening again in the future. Bolt specs per BGB were used. See thread here: https://rennlist.com/forums/gt4-spyd...is-a-must.html
Porsche good-willed the repair (I was just a couple weeks out of warranty and they are aware of this issue), and in the process re-sealed the whole engine. The whole cylinder head assembly on Bank 1 was replaced (including cams, valvetrain, and VarioCam components) along with the valve covers on both sides. The car should be leak-free for a very long time, and I have put several hundred track miles on the engine without any issues at all. In fact, it makes a healthy amount of horsepower with the mods!
Transmission recall was done about 1600 miles ago, so the diff and trans are fresh.
The original owner spec'd the car as a driver's car -- minimal options for the lightest weight outside of PCCBs which are not desirable for track use.

I have another set of GT4 20" wheels in Gloss Silver with A052s on them that only have about 10 laps on them that would be $4000 additional.
I was also going to convert the car to be able to run 18" wheels for much broader tire options, so I have a set of 18" APEX EC-7R Forged wheels in gold that would go with the car for $2600.
I am located in Denver, CO.

I am not in a huge hurry to sell and would like to see the car go to someone who can enjoy and appreciate the time and work that has been put into it. Also not looking to part anything out.
Please feel free to PM me with any questions.
It feels about as fast as a stock GT4 does at sea level at 5200ft and actual non-corrected dyno numbers showed as much, and we're at about 85% sea level density here, so roughly 15% gains which is in line with the stock power. I discussed this with my tuner and Dundon, and they agreed that atmospheric density generally scales linearly with power output.
The delta, however, is in line with the gains that people have found with a non-catted header and the 718 Clubsport intake (about 50whp peak and 25-40 wtq throughout the rev range, with wtq peak not changing much).
The intake helps with low end torque as well and you can really tell on the street. There were many places where holding 2nd or 3rd from a slow roll would bog the engine down, and that behavior was much improved after installing the intake. We were also able to scoop back most of the mid range torque that was lost through tuning (within 2-3 wtq), and as you can see, the gains on the top end are huge.
