Description:

997.2 with PDK. White with stone grey interior, high-end Bose, XM radio, Heated Leather Power Comfort Seats with Driver Memory, Heated Steering Wheel, Sunroof, 19" Turbo Wheels, and more. As this is a 997.2 model with direct fuel injection, the motor is as powerful at 345 hp as most will ever need  and has no IMS part to ever go out. This cannot be said of any prior year 911 that is watercooled outside of the Turbo and GT cars to my knowledge.

I purchased this car in 2018 from The Porsche Exchange in Highland Park, IL. I have likely spent over $10k putting and keeping this car in extremely good mechanical condition. Drives like new. Includes custom car cover from AutoChic for storing in garage. I really like this car, but I found I like road courses so enjoyable I decided to buy a race car, enclosed ATC trailer, and motorhome. I did not want to convert what is a loved street car into a race car. I feel it is too nice to do that to it!

The original owner purchased the car at The Porsche Exchange, apparently trading it in at 48,000 miles and had all its servicing there. I have the records. I have taken very good care of this car, both mechanically and for the interior I have been using Zymol leather conditioner for the seats. At the dealership I asked about the car having an accident reported on CarFax. I was told that the owner of the car had a parking lot bump with another car and there was a police report. There is a very small chip in the rear bumper cover paint that suggests this is the case, and nothing about the car has ever suggested there was anything more than that.  The car has been thoroughly inspected many times by Midwest Eurosport in Bensenville, Illinois. Rennlisters will know this shop's excellent reputation.

In two years I used the car for occasional weekend use and for DE events. Garaged under cover in the cold months. Most of the miles are highway between Illinois and Ohio. I spent the money to keep this car in absolutely the best mechanical shape I could. The car is stock but with added genuine Porsche 3rd center radiator kit system through Suncoast Porsche for $1,000 plus installation, Rennline black radiator grill covers including center radiator, and improved brake caliper studs by Tarret Engineering. Genuine Porsche maintenance items replaced include coolant pipes (over $2k), front LCA due to a small creaking sound, oil filler cap, tensioner and idler pulley and belt. Have maintenance records since purchased new. Front calipers rebuilt by Midwest Eurosport and rear wheel bearings replaced fall 2020. Currently has Pagid yellow pads, Sebro front slotted rotors, and Toyo R888R tires used for several DE days.

Small cosmetic issues: Some scratches on center console, tiny outward dents near left wheelwell, and some wrinkling of driver seat behind neck in one area due to using Simpson Hybrid S. One highly regarded interior specialist, Riggs Brothers, told me they could repair this by adding a thin layer of foam under this area, about a $300 job. EDIT: underside of hood has been repaired in May 2021. The underside of hood was damaged by a  Porsche specialty shop (NOT Eurosport!) When they caused brake fluid to spray onto the underside of the hood causing bubbling in that spot. Front bumper resprayed by same Porsche approved body shop. This past year I the daytime running lights lens covers developed superficial roughness which may be restored by a good detailer. The headlights are clear. Just passed April 2021 Illinois emissions test.

Currently pending offer by fellow RLer.

EDIT: Video of last DE day

Awesome that you have the previous records. Aside from the mentioned DE event, sounds like she’s had some track time? Which tires are the OEMs? And what condition are those in? Would it be possible to see detailed pics of the center console scratch, front bumper pitting, front seat leather wrinkling, paint bubbling under hood, and lastly the rear bumper cover paint chip which you think is associated with the parking lot incident? I’d be curious why that would have been reported as an accident but the damage never got fixed. Maybe the previous owner hit something else and had to pay that damage but opted not to repair their own car?

Here are the pics. If you cannot view them directly I can email them to you. Yes I've done DE events which I have loved! That is the reason the maintenance has been so extensive to never take a chance with anything possibly going wrong. Its also why I am selling the car now that I have a racecar. As for the OEM tires I did not keep them, I think current replacements would be Micheline Pilot Sport 4S. EDIT: Here is video of my last DE day in this car October 2020

Rear bumper just now.

This is the rear bumper scratch mentioned in the description, present since I bought it at the Porsche Exchange in Highland Park, Illinois. It goes all the way through the paint.

The wrinkling in the neck area I mentioned from the Simpson Hybrid S. I think I used it about 5 times. After the first time I contacted Simpson and they sold me a cover for the back to protect the seat. Obviously not enough.

Scratches in the rubber-like coating on the center console

Front bumper chipping. Last year I drove to Ohio, and a storm developed while driving on Rt 30. A piece of road debris came up and hit the front bumper. It was repainted by Ohare auto body. These chips appeared in the fall and I brought it to their attention. They will repaint it under warranty when I bring it in. Paint manufacturer (PPG?) accepts it should not have happened. I did not want to bring the car back during the cold months, so now I will soon.

Underside of hood. General condition excellent. paint bubbling near bottom of the right slots.

Close up of paint bubbling.

Front bumper today.

Closeup of the front bumper chipping that will be fixed by Ohare Auto Body under warranty from paint manufacturer. Last year debris from road during storm on rt 30 damaged the bumper so I had it fixed. Original bumper. But paint soon chipped. See description above in my reply.

Good value for a nice 3.6L. All these paints typically have some chips with those miles, the white cars tend to show them a bit more GLWS!

I’ve got that in the race car. Never wanted to that to this 997.2. This weekend at Mid-Ohio

Still on market, but with likely sale to out of state buyer pending PPI in about a week. Front bumper was repainted excellently by OHare body shop (an approved Porsche repair shop) and the paint on the underside of the hood was repaired.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I bought this car from Jeff last week and had a blast driving it over 2,000 miles home. The car was very well looked after by Jeff, who very clearly loves the brand, cares deeply about these cars, and is a really great guy. Wouldn’t hesitate to do business with him again in the future. Hope to keep in touch during my journey with this beauty of a car, Jeff!

Oh, and if anyone is looking for a PPI recommendation in the Chicago area (western suburbs), I’d highly recommend Mark Hill who runs CarsPlus over in Westmont/Darien. The shop services all makes, but Mark specifically works on Porsches (unadvertised) in a separate garage at the facility. There were a total of 7 of them in the shop when I was there for my PPI. Mark races Porsches and is a PCA guy and fellow RL’er who is an absolute pro.

Few pics from my trip below!
