Yes, 996 Turbos have been going up in value these past few years... but Im not complain since I own a 16K mile 2003 (not for sale).
I think it was a very under appreciated car for too long and a lot of folks are realizing the difference between 996Turbo and 997Turbo is not a lot in regards to the engine, trans, suspension, etc.

In regards to the car for sale here, if someone were to find a donor car and then replicate the upgrades the seller has here... all said and done, it would be easily over $85K (probably more like ~$100K+) even if starting with the cheapest 996turbo 6-speed coupe one could find these days, and usually the 'cheapest' car out there needs a boat load of maintenance too $85K seems like a good deal for someone looking for a sorted DE car.

If I had to guesstimate thats probably $35K+ in parts alone before installation.

Agreed on 996 cars in general (wow, the GT3s!). I also agree with the above comment regarding pricing these days. Things have gone up.
With regard to this 911TT, as I pore over the meticulous records for this car, the owner has well-into six figures invested (just 2 shop visit invoices totaled 50k). He and I spoke about the ROI for this car and he's aware that he'll lose money even at $85k and there's still some room for negotiation. It's well-built and well-maintained, and as you mentioned, it would cost far more to build this car now and his investment is figured using his 2014 purchase price of the car.

Thanks for the encouragement. I have too many cars at home and I don't even own this one! If it were in my budget today I would buy this myself.

For sure, but going up in value and priced at 997 turbo market almost gt3 market that's optimistic. I have 100k in receipts and my car was listed for 30 less. I think I'll pull the ad or raise the price. I can't fathom an f430 costing a few k more than a 996 turbo, but I'm all for it. It looks like a nice car.
