Description:

2006 997.1 C2 6MT coupe.

Car is black on black. Purchased the car in August of 2020 with 92k miles to replace my E92 M3. When purchased car was reviewed by my mechanic in Miami "Meister Motoring", and came out with flying colors. Car has a full ceramic coating from July of 2020. There is no lien on the car.

Car is located in Washington D.C. area and is priced to sell. Car just went on a 850 mile road trip from Tampa to DMV area. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the country. First come first serve.

First time posting on Rennlist, unsure what else to say about car that the pictures won't show - so feel free to text me any questions (8l3-5O5-O963).

You may want to mention the accident history which sort of contradicts the notion of "clean".

The car does not have accident history. It does have "damage reported' on the carfax which is what I'll assume your talking about. My mechanic and I assumed it had to do with the repainted front and rear bumpers. It is hard to tell, but the pre purchase inspection did mention that the front and rear bumper of the car has been repainted. There are small dings around the body roughly 2 door dings and a few on the roof from acorns - I'd call the exterior a 8.5/10, and the interior a 9/10 - which is very good considering the age and mileage. There are also a couple areas on the car where the paint was scratched and touched up, without a full panel respray - the previous owner was **** correcting any scratches in the paint.

I was concerned with the damage reported, but the PPI revealed that it was only cosmetic. The mechanical systems to include the suspension etc, were all in good shape. The only mechanical system that had an issue was the brake system, which corrected itself by being driven (the car sat for a few months prior to my ownership.

I've attached pictures of the PPI report as well as the Carfax indicating when damage was reported.

Thank you for the constructive criticism as I learn the innerworkings of private party sales - trying my best to be transparent. As far as the term clean - The car is very clean, as is the title (not salvage/rebuilt). A 15 year old car that has been driven, and never had paintwork done is an anomaly. I did not realize that clean indicated the car to be 100% incident free.

Interesting indeed! But yeah the system says "major damage" so it looks worse than it appears to be.

Where do you see major damage? If you could be more descript so I can learn more about my vehicle I'd appreciate it.

Not the person above, but this is what an AutoCheck report comes back with

Thanks for letting me know.

That's very interesting - especially noting the accident occurred in Illinois, as the owner I purchased from was in Miami, and the owner before him was in New England.

I'm going to contact autocheck and confirm they have the right VIN - doesn't seem right to me. I'll report back with my findings.

In addition to the accident report on the Autocheck on 1/19/2020, there is damage reported on the Carfax above on 1/23/2020. The timing would suggest these two are related, but a clerical error is still possible as these reports likely pull from the same sources.

Best of luck getting this cleared up. I am in the market for a 997 myself (although I'm hunting for a Carrera S) and think this one is priced very fairly if you can get this cleared up.

Going to try my best to get it cleared up.

In any case, any interested party I highly suggest getting a PPI - I'll happily deliver the car to a mechanic of your choice within 50 miles of Falls Church VA to let a professional run over the car with a fine tooth comb.

I'm confident the car is in great shape.

Edit 1/18 - They've confirmed there was an incident on the date. Could not clarify if it was severe accident or undercarriage damage. I'll post pics of the underside sometime this week when I get a moment to put it on a lift.

Can you post some pictures of the underside of the car?

Vin Washing this car .
This car may have been a salvage at one time .
You can verify , but the cost is a bit high for a potential P.O.S.
