Description:

Selling my 2006 Basalt Black Cayman S 6 speed. As mentioned in title, car is not running. The engine failed on track during an HPDE, i believe from rod bearing failure, in November 2020. I am not sure how bad the engine damage is but it will not run on all cylinders and many metal flakes were found in the oil and oil pan. Engine casing is intact and there are no fluid leaks. (I have on track video from moment of failure, as well as photos of the metal in the oil, and Blackstone oil report, for anyone interested).

I have owned the car for 7 years; purchased in December 2013 with 56,000 miles. I am the third owner. Car is equipped with the following factory options:

Sport Chrono
Painted crest wheel center caps
External AM radio antenna
Debadged rear trunk lid

Car was originally purchased from Brumos Porsche in Florida and has windshield decal stating that it was test driven by Hurley Haywood. Car has never resided outside of the southeast US and has no undercarriage rust. Approximately 12,000 miles ago the suspension was overhauled with the following new replacement parts:

Ohlins Road & Track coilover set
Ground Control front camber plates
OEM front control arms
OEM front sway bar end links
OEM rear strut mounts
Tarett rear thrust arm metal bushings

Within the last 12 months (before engine failure) the following were added/replaced:

Elephant Racing adjustable rear toe control arms installed 500 miles ago (basically brand new)
Front brake calipers rebuilt 500 miles ago
FVD Brombacher Motorsports deep oil sump with X51 baffles
Magnaflow exhaust manifolds with integral catalytic converters (OEM exhaust manifolds are also included, but cat is bad in one of them)
both window regulators have been replaced with new OEM parts (known failure point)
less than 10,000 miles on Carbotech brake street pads

Car will come with the following spare parts

2nd set of OEM 18" 5 spoke wheels shod with Nitto NT05 tires (used on track, enough tread left for 1 track weekend or maybe 5,000 miles on street)
original OEM struts and springs (roughly 100k miles on them - too worn for track use but perfectly fine on street)
brand new OEM water pump (uninstalled)
original OEM oil sump
~~Pagid Yellow track brake pads (8 mm pad material left)~~

Exterior is in fantastic shape. All body panels are 100% dent free. Front bumper cover has typical road use paint chips. Bumper cover was repainted at 65k miles, and was touched up recently with a Dr ColorChip kit, but some chips are still visible. Paint has been maintained/protected with Zaino line of paint polish products, applied several times a year. Has been claybar'd 3 times under my ownership. Has been garage kept while in my possession. Interior of car has some normal wear and tear. Leather seats are in great shape. The common touch points have minor scratches/wear marks. OEM factory stereo was replaced by previous owner with an aftermarket touchscreen Pioneer unit. I do not have the OEM stereo. Tires on the car currently are Michelin Pilot Super Sports with 80% tread left. 2016 build dates.
