Description:
You are looking at a low mileage (19,7xx), no stories, unmolested 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera S coupe that has been a California car since new. Clean title in hand, clean CarFax and no paintwork. PPI's welcomed.
I am selling because I rarely drive it and I have ordered a 2021 Cayenne GTS.
This 997.2 was originally sold by Circle Porsche in Long Beach, CA in Sept, 2009 and returned three years later at the end of the lease. I bought it as a CPO car from Circle Porsche in Dec, 2012 with 4,951 miles on the clock and drove it home to the SF Bay Area. In 2018, I relocated to Palm Desert, CA where the car is kept under cover in an offsite garage. I will include the indoor Porsche car cover with the sale.
Please see the attached build sheet as well as the option list with prices. I do not have the original window sticker as it was not included when the car was returned to Circle Porsche. I do, however, have the CPO window sticker that will be included in the sale.
I searched for nearly two years to find this car and it just spoke to me. This vehicle has what are, in my opinion, the three must-have options: 6MT, adaptive sport seats (hardbacks) and full leather. The sticker was $106,705.
In addition, this 911 has the following options: Sport chrono, three spoke multifunctional steering wheel, seat heating, Bluetooth phone interface, extended navigation, BOSE surround sound, Sirius/XM satellite radio, universal audio interface, Porsche crest on the head rests, instrument dials in black, instrument surround in leather and voice control. I had the dealer exchange the original 19 inch Carrera Sport wheels for 19 inch forged Turbo wheels at the time of my purchase.
The exterior is black and the interior is Carrera Red Natural Leather with deviating black upper dash, steering wheel, airbag module, door trim and carpet. In 2009, Porsche offered two tone interiors including Black/Stone Grey, Black/Sand Beige and Black/Terracotta. But Porsche did not offer Carrera Red in a two tone interior so it was done through the exclusive manufacturing process at a cost of $1,890.
A note about leather interiors. In 2009, Porsche offered three different types of leather. Full leather at $3,655 (black, sand beige), Special leather (Terracotta, Cocoa) at $4,085 and Natural leather (Carrera Red, Brown) at $5,165. My understanding is that the hides used for the natural leathers are carefully selected and then tumbled in dye so that the color penetrates more fully into the leather. Please see Google if you want more information about the three different leathers. What I know is that the leather in my car is in very good shape with little signs of wear.
The car has Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that were installed in Jan, 2015 when the mileage was 12,297. The tires have date codes of 3714 and 4214 meaning mid to late 2014 production and have 5 mm of tread up front and 4.5 mm in the rear. The car has been indoors so there's little UV damage to the rubber. Two wheel have light scratches.
I have enjoyed this car on the track a total of 10 times (7 at Thunderhill, 2 at Sonoma and 1 at Laguna Seca). As safety is my first priority, I drove at 7/10ths to stay in my comfort zone. I may be one of the slow guys but I'm quick with a point by
I ran a DME report that shows 831 total operating hours (19,740 mi) and 733 ignitions in range 1 and 6 in range 2. The most recent range 1 & 2 ignitions occurred at the 400 hour mark so probably in 2014 based on my log books. The report does not tell you how many times you hit range 1 or how many ignitions occurred in each instance; it only tells you the last time and the combined total ignitions.
Since there are 3 ignitions per revolution, at the 7,200 red line there are 21,600 ignitions per min or 360 ignitions per sec. This means the engine was, in total, in range 1 for about 2 seconds.
The original owner did not put on a clear bra and there are paint chips as expected for a car with 19,7xx miles.
While I consider this a no stories car, I've done two small mods. The first is that I replaced the clutch, brake and gas pedal covers with Rennline aluminum parts. The second is that I installed a hand made mesh kit to protect the radiators (see https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...protector.html). Both mods can be easily removed if the buyer wants to return the car to 100% bone stock.
During my ownership, service was provided by Sonnen Porsche (now Porsche Marin) except the Jan 10, 2020 oil change that was done at Porsche Palm Springs (mileage was 19,542). This car has been extremely reliable and all I've done is change the oil, brake fluid and an alignment. All service records will be included in the sale along with both keys, the owner's manual and a fitted Porsche dash board cover.
I've just completed a full detail and the car is ready to go. If you have any photo requests, just let me know.
I'm going to miss this car but it's not doing anyone any good sitting in a garage.
