Beautiful 718! The Carrera T would be a worthy upgrade. Glad you're sticking to lava orange.

I have never figured this out: the 997 carbon buckets fold, so why don't the 991 buckets fold? Putting them in the Carrera kills the biggest part of the rationale for getting a T over a GT4; rear seats for little ones. If you need more than 2 seats, you need more than 2 seats. If you want buckets, you can't get them in any other non-GT 911 right now; buckets add to the driving experience significantly. A lot of people who want buckets but only need 2 seats would rather own a GT4 or Spyder anyways (having owned both, the GT4 is superior to any non GT 911 IMO), so why not make a folding bucket and sell more T bucket equipped cars?

Simply because the 997 foldable bucket is no longer fits the DOT requirement here. In Europe the foldable bucket are still widely used in the 991 cars. Porsche just didn't bother to have it re-certified again since there is an newer version of the bucket seat.

Ah, makes sense! I will just keep my 997 buckets when we get another 991. They are a lot more comfortable for me than the regular 18-ways.

There is a whole thread about making the foldable bucket work in the 991 for the US cars only. U'll need the passenger pressure sensor & different harnesses. Quite a bit of work but doable. Yes I do agree the 997 foldable bucket is well more practical than the fixed bucket. GL!
