Description:

Selling a complete set of Stoptech World Challenge 380/355mm brake kit for 997 GT3/Cup and 996 GT3/Cup. I purchased this brake kit new in Summer of 2018 and installed it on my '07 GT3 street/track car. This brake kit has 10 track days on it. The braking performance is awesome. Can hammer on the brakes all session with slicks they work as awesome from first lap to last lap! Noticeably better than the OEM brakes with track pads. And I have further upgraded this brake kit by adding Stoptech Titanium puck pistons(with cooling fins) and Stoptech 6-lb anti-knock back springs. Everything is in excellent condition and come with spares parts. All the parts are very fresh looking, they aren't beat up at all. Check out the last two pics of them on the car.

Kit includes:
Stoptech STR60 hard-coated 6-piston front caliper with optional Ti-pistons + 6-lb AKB springs (x 2)
Stoptech Aero 380mm front rotors with full-floating hardware (x2)
Stoptech STR40 hard-coated 4-piston rear caliper with optional Ti-pistons + 6-lb AKB springs (x 2)
Stoptech Aero 355mm front rotors with full-floating hardware (x2)
Stoptech SS brake hoses (x 4)
Stoptech ST33 linear-torque front pads, 50% material remaining
Stoptech ST33 linear-torque rear pads, 50% material remaining

Includes spares:
Extra pair of Stoptech 380mm front rotor friction rings (new)
Extra set of Stoptech full-floating hardware (new)
Extra set of Stoptech ST34 higher-torque rear pads, 90% material remaining
Extra Stoptech SS brake hose
***Also included are Stoptech billet aluminum front brackets with stainless steel caliper studs for both 225mm and 143mm bolt spacing so they will fit all 996/997 GT3/RS/Cup uprights!

I have over $10K in this package. ***Selling for $6500 + shipping*** It is a super deal!

Final details:
If its so awesome then why am I selling it? Because I love to development work and take on new mechanical challenges, I love it more than driving itself, so the next mechanical challenge for me is to put 991 Cup type brakes on my car. Doing this sort of thing is my obsession.

One caveat - This brake kit is still on my car which is stored in my house garage. I have to sell the Stoptech Kit before I buy the new parts so once I have a committed buyer it will take approximately 10 days to be shipped.

I took these pics today to show the current condition of the brake kit. The calipers are like new. Front rotor friction rings have normal signs of track use(no signs of over braking/over heating). Rear rotor friction are in good shape. Also pics of the new front friction rings & new floating hardware in boxes that are included with the deal.

Could these be adapted to fit a 2009 4S?

The rears are direct fit on all 997 cars. The front rotors on a GT vs. non-GT is offset by 1.5mm inward. The brake manufacturing companies either offset rotor or the bracket to center the rotor within the caliper. I am not sure if Stoptech has a different rotor hat or bracket. I'll try to find out if you are seriously considering. The difference is only 1.5mm.

Don't worry about checking .... let me think about whether I'd really need that sort of stopping power. Great looking setup.

Thanks. I sent an email to ST to ask about offset brackets for non-GT cars but haven't heard back. And then it just occurred to me while staring at the ST brackets that are included with the deal, they are indeed offset! By flipping the bracket 180 degrees the offset will fit 997 Carrera S, C4S, and Turbo!!! It is that simple. In case you change your mind...

Is the "World Challenge" branding new? How are these different than the "standard" ST Trophy kit? The Ti pistons, or is it more?

I don't what the difference is. When I ordered this brake kit directly from ST in 2018 I ordered the kit shown in this link below and I added Ti pistons for $200 a piece(x20). I was told the WC-spec kit is the top level kit ST offered for 997 GT3/Cup at the time.

Tom - please keep us posted once you start fitting the 991 cup type brakes. Sounds like an awesome project.
