Man, I wish I had the optimism of some of the people listing cars for sale here.

Why not just have RAC consign it back? They are pretty reasonable if I remember correct. Dallas Motorsports is a great option: they are 5% and move cars.

Yes and no! It depends on what you want. In terms of “preserved” and “immaculate” you aren’t going to find a .2 GT3 for under the $110k mark in those conditions. They will be heavily tracked, accidents present, heavy owners, and/or worn aesthetically but again, depends on what is important to you.

Basically it’s like saying you can find a .2 Carrera S Manual for $51k. Well sure, you probably can but, it will have higher mileage, worn interior/exterior general components, possible accidents, more owners, in a lesser overall condition, etc. Some people look at cars differently than others so regardless of condition it is personally valued the same to them. The condition of this car speaks for itself especially if you are able to see it in person. It’s real tough to find a Manual second generation Carrera S in this condition, and spec even in stock form. Most post a vehicle for sale and claim “mint” condition until you see it in the flesh or request and receive detailed pictures that the seller conveniently left out, and then it’s true colors are shown.

We we shall see what happens! I have a handful of decent offers even since posting, which it has only been listed for few days. If it doesn't sell, I have no problems keeping it and actually rolling on some mileage. As for RAC, they are awesome over there but I am located in NC and would hate to spend the money transporting the car via enclosed trailer and having it so far from home! I have a Dealer and a Porsche Restoration specialist shop that would most likely do consignment but figured I’d play my cards privately among enthusiasts first.

I think it's simply a matter of finding the right buyer. I have a 997.1 GT3. My car has Perlon "CGT" seats $30k shipped from Suncoast, an RS 4.0 rear decklid/wing $30k if you can find the parts, GMG BBS wheels $8k and a Clubsport cage $10k if you can find the parts. Those are new prices but many of those parts are NLA. It's all about perspective and this car is done much more extensively than mine. The price will make sense to the right buyer. And its just not cool to criticize other folks asking prices. This is a community. Let's act like one. GLWS!!!! Best Josh

I think the OP has recognized the potential confusion of his original post and amended accordingly. Can’t blame him for wanting to unload the car as is with all of the mods and not have to go through the hassle of removing everything to go back to stock. He may find the right buyer who wants the driveability and ease of maintenance that a C2S brings compared to a GT3 but still has the killer look of GT3. This is like the ultimate OEM+ C2S here.

I have been hearing for years that the GTS was supposed to be the car you just described; probably more like the Sport Classic. That is the 997 to have; why oh why wasn't it made in real numbers and sold here? Enthusiast's dream

True, a 997.2 GTS, especially with the aero kit, is very similar in principal to this car. Unfortunately, a 6MT 2 wheel drive GTS is $90k as well.

Yeah real tough to say, like you said, finding a Manual 2 wheel GTS is pretty rare and comes with a real heavy premium. As for advantages over this Carrera S, I don’t really see any to justify the salivating everyone seems to do over the GTS. You’ll get a wide body, some fancy alcantara interior bits, a tune, centerlocks(yikes), a thicker front sway, and some badging.

Unless you opt for PCCB’s (huge price jump and expensive maintenance) they still have standard little 4pot carrera S brakes, same PASM suspension, and everything else carrera because... well... it’s a carrera.

Let’s admit, Porsche is smart with their marketing and selling tactics to the vulnerable unknowing. Im not talking down to the GTS model what so ever, but trying to she’d light on the fine print for those who might be anonymously browsing this forum, possibly uneducated and looking for general info/differences between this car and a GTS.

This car has better add ons then you’d ever be able to squeeze out of a Fully Spec’d out .2 GTS from the factory. In no way am I saying this Carrera S is “the best of the best”, but there really is no performance advantage with the GTS. It all boils down to what is important to you.

Thank you! I have had a good amount of requests. If I can get home at a decent time this week I will record one and link it along side of the walk around video in the description.

Probably a cold start and some light revs.
