Description:
'89 944 Turbo (S) Track / Street Car For Sale
Linen Metallic exterior / dark blue interior.
Set up for PCA Class E road racing in the late 90s. I drove it to all my races and drove it back from all of them but one.
Welded-in OG full cage, coilover suspension with 450 lb front springs so it can be driven on the street. Upgrade it to 600 lbs to turn it into a track-only car. Weltmeister sway bars and strut brace, Fabcar control arms, Recaro SPD drivers seat with the lap belt cutout.
Estimated retail cost of major racing components on car:
Welded in OG Roll Cage: $1000 + installation.
Fabcar control arms: $2000.
Weltmeister sway bars and strut brace bar: Approx $1000.
Huntley Racing coilover suspension: $2500.
Recaro SPD seat: $1000.
Cat bypass: $350.
Front brake ducts: $400.
Stock suspension, cat, and rear seat back are included.
If you want me to convert the car back to the stock M030 suspension and don't want the coilovers and the Weltmeister parts, I will deduct $1000 from the asking price. If you don't want the OEM catalytic converter, I will take $200 off the asking price.
Engine and drivetrain are strong. The odometer shows 129K miles but it broke when I tried to reset it while driving.
Garaged the entire time during the 22 years I have owned it.
Further details, including all that I know needs to be fixed or ignored, available by PMing me.
It has not been raced since 1999. I only raced it 8 times. The rod bearings were replaced before I started and the head was rebuilt after 3 races. The transaxle was replaced after my next to last race. Something snagged the oil cooler loop during qualifying. The entire time I raced it the car was professionally maintained by racing mechanics.
All the pics besides the photo at Watkins Glen were from about a week ago. The Glen photo is from Brian Redman's Double 50 in '98 which was taken by a Rennlist member who came to see me race.
Nice 951! It is a shame about the fire...
