Description:

Up for sale is my practically brand new set of 1668's from Sam @ byDesign. I bought these turbos from Sam almost a 2 years ago to the day, I've put about 2500 miles on them. This spring I went to a 3.8l build and as part of that path I'm moving to a larger turbo.

These turbos are the gold standard for those on a stock 3.6 block and when paired with Sam's tuning they allowed me to go 165mph in the 1/2 mile and 190 in the mile. Price is $2250 with free shipping anywhere in the lower 48. When comparing prices keep in mind that no core fee is required here, it would be pretty easy to sell any decent set of k16s for $500.

GREAT turbos, spool quick and plenty on the top end with supporting mods. Fantastic price, bet these go quick.
Are you building a monster or just a bit more than 3.6/billets?

Built a 3.8l this spring, the 1668s just make too much torque down low on this engine so I'm going to a Tial Xona 3073.

How different are these to stock 997 GT2 turbos?

That is a tough question to answer. The 997 GT2 ran the BV50 turbos which were VTG. I can't find any inducer/exducer specs on the BV50. My gut would tell me that this site has their numbers flipped and the BV50 had a 44.5mm inducer and a 50mm exducer which makes these 68mm exducer turbos slightly larger. Again, the wild card is how the VTG on the turbine side impacts compressor wheel efficiency.
