Haha trust me I’ve thought about it. Thought about how I’d have to make a center exhaust on my bumper and put this cars bumper back to stock. Thought of all potential moves and costs. If it were a straight motor for sale I’d prob already have it on the way.

Thanks for all the positive comments, guys!

I will try to record the sound sometime soon. Not sure the camera and microphones will truly capture the incredible sound above 7k RPM. Oddly enough, it’s most impressive with windows up.

So does this engine really go to 8700? Dyno shows peak numbers and flattening curve at 7700. Just curious. Either way an incredible, top dollar build. I have just never heard of an aircooled 3.8 going that high...

Thanks for picking that up - my original note should have said 7,800, and not 8,700!!

Trust me though, it pushes you deep in your seat

Did you switch over to mechanical lifters?

You should go ahead and make the step up to the 993, I think you are probably ready for one..

Lot's of interest but no deal as of yet. I would be glad to consider trades + $$ (one way or the other).

I love this car. Anyone keen on a hot rod 964 so I can trade up?

That is an excellent car with a wonderful engine! But it's tough to get much back on that big investment. May be best at bringatrailer.com where they get a lot for modified 911s. But they'll probably pass if your reserve is close to $100K.

Thanks - I know it will take time, but for the right buyer, I think it's a very good deal. I am surprised no one is considering this as a starting point for a dedicated track car...
