Description:

Selling this vehicle on behalf of my father. He wasn't necessarily looking for a 930 but ended up with one because it was a great deal. As it turns out, once the novelty dissipated, he didn't enjoy driving it as much as his modern alternatives (RS7 and R8). It is because of this that he wanted to sell--not the car's fault, he just didn't like the "vintage experience."

As I am a relative newcomer to the 930 and aircooled 911 world, please bear with me and I will answer any and all questions to the best of my ability. I intend to represent the car as well as possible and sell it at a price that is fair to all parties, as well as place it with someone who will appreciate and care for it. While I am new to the aircooled world, I adore these cars and to me, they are the pinnacle of the Porsche range, both past and present.

Onto the details...

I did my best to capture this amazing color as best I could. Under most circumstances it presents as black however in different lighting it has some lovely brown tones to it or it can appear dark grey. Lots of metallic pop to it and its definitely something a bit different lined up against almost any other 930 at your local meetup but at the same time understated and fitting to the car.

Other notes:
--Mechanically the car runs fantastically. It pulls hard in all gears and I cannot detect any issues whilst driving it. The clutch engages smoothly and aside from typical characteristics inherent in the model, it is a pleasure to drive.
--All electronics function as they should aside from a couple items noted below.
--I cannot detect any evidence of accidents or paintwork on the car. I would welcome any prospective buyer to have a professional take a look to verify as I am not one.
--PPI's welcomed and encouraged.
--I am trying to track down service records but he received the car without If I can get some, I will certainly share. I do have a smattering of paperwork related to the car including the original invoice, a few service records, extra keys, and some other documents.
--The car comes as photographed, along with toolkit and manuals.
--After purchase back in June, the car received a minor refreshening ($7,400 total) which included the following:
-All 4 tires balanced
-Sound pad replaced along with some weather stripping
-Sunroof gasket replaced
-New OEM Valeo alternator and drive belt
-Evacuate and recharge A/C system, blows cold currently
-New OEM power antennae
-New spark plugs
-New OEM side marker light
-Shifter Components Replaced (shift sleeve, shift socket, shift coupler)
-Air injection pump Serviced
-New A/C condenser blower
-New A/C expansion valve
-New receiver dryer

Overall this is a solid, honest car for the right buyer. Willing to work with buyers nationwide (shipping at buyer's expense) and open to viewing here in Rhode Island. I am willing to drive up to an hour, schedule/weather permitting for a serious prospective buyer to look at the vehicle. Any questions or additional photos, please contact me.

Disclosures/Issues
--Car pulls slightly to right under braking
--Clear coat peeling in small area beneath rain gutter on left hand side of car
--Slight smoke upon startup, stops after about 15-20 seconds but no smoke under acceleration/deceleration or after it has warmed
--Slight oil leak, a few drops after a good drive. Appears quite minor.
--Autoheat function not currently working. I assume it is the switch, seems like an easy fix but am leaving that to the buyer.
--Sunroof not functioning, appears to be caught off its track, leaving the fix to the buyer. Seems minor but I don't want to mess with it.
--Miles may increase slightly until it is sold.
--Tires need to be replaced according to date codes. Tread is acceptable and it can be driven at a leisurely pace, but before spirited driving I would recommend replacement of all four.
--Car came from a dry environment (Arizona) and is currently kept in storage in my garage, which is climate controlled. It is not driven in rain but I can only assume it has seen rain at some point in its life. That being said, I cannot find any evidence of rust or issues from being used in poor weather. It presents as a mint, well cared for, and low mileage example of a 930 aesthetically.

Thanks for looking!!!

Hi Kraeburn,
Regarding the rear fender air intakes (option code SOW012) was the car delivered with them or are they a later addition.
Regards,

I owned this car and had the rear fender intakes done at Blackburn-Daly out of Indianapolis. They really were the top shop in the Midwest for this type of work. I also had the Porsche rear reflector changed from the black Porsche script to the rear reflector on the 87 and later turbos. I'd be happy to answer on questions on it. I drove it from IA to FL and back and have some pictures that I can dig up if someone is really interested. The color is very interesting, it was a one owner when I bought it, I didn't even know it was color to sample. It does have nice brown tints to it in the sun. I thought it was tobacco brown metallic or whatever the Porsche color name of that epoch. I bought it from a independent dealer who took it on trade from a doctor. The doctor didn't know drive it hard enough and the shop selling it didn't know sh*t about turbos. It had 5,000 miles on it at that time.

I was familiar with Euro market turbos and was definitely all original paint when I purchased. I immediately changed out the exhaust to a factory Euro exhaust (which appears is still on it). The color is much more interesting than Porsche's flat A1 color code. No accidents during my tenure. Girls LOVED it. I owned it for two years and although I did drive it in the winter, never when there was salt on the roads. The turbo was noticeably punchier in the cool air.

Cheers
