The above URL should read: 844734-how-to-create-a-digital-music-library-for-pcm.html
I do not know why it is getting abbreviated and the browser cannot follow the link.

Unfortunately, the Bose system is woefully inadequate for any Porsche vehicle. Tinny, thin sounding crap, and that's considered an upgrade over the base system!!!!!. Without question, Porsche needs to changer their audio partner.
The Burmeister system is way too expensive to seriously consider (and the Bose costs way more than it should). There has to be some kind of audio system available to Porsche above the Bose in quality (but below the Burmeister, and it really shouldn't cost more than the current Bose). BMW and Mercedes audio systems are far superior.
Overall, in my GT3 it doesn't really matter, but in the Macan and my wife's Cayenne, the pathetic audio performance of the Bose system is inexcusable, particularly at the cost.

I had a 993 C4S around 2000 - my first Porsche. I was *so* disappointed in the base level sound system that came with the (when new) $85K car. I purchased it used and out of warranty and always thought it was shameful to provide such a crappy system.
This time around I bought a lightly used Macan with the Burmester system. Each time I listen to it I think 'OMG!!!'. It's like listening to an in-home high-end sound system. Yes it's pricey - no doubt. The sound is phenomenal!!!
I have not listened to the Macan base level system nor the Bose system. I decided, based on dozens of posts & reviews I would hold out for a nice example that also had the Burmester system. I am *so* glad I did.
