So this is for the lady of the house, yes another $7.5k gets you an S and I struggled with that but this meets her needs and it is still fun to drive.
We could have ordered a 17, figured better resale on the 18 in the future and we were not in that much of a hurry. More discount for a 17 and 18 was a bit more expensive but it was relatively small $$.
Expected in Mid August.
Configuration:
Sapphire Blue
Steering Wheel Heating
Roof Rails In Black
Premium Package Plus
Lane Change Assist
So pretty basic, declined navigation as when needed we just use waze and there was nothing in the communication package that wowed us and the price increase on that option for MY18 was somewhat steep.
I wanted better wheels but could not justify the price and the standard wheels mean we can use them all year round here in the PACNW.
Oh, no. Don't tell us we're going to turn into the 928 people!
Just kidding, enjoy your car.
I might have convinced a guy today to buy a GTS. I was getting gas and he came over, knew it was a Macan not a Cayenne, and we talked. A short conversation but I got the sense he made a decision.
Congratulations, but gosh, your brochure is going to be all dog-eared, sitting on your coffee table for four months. I got the base also - token compensation for my less responsible vehicles, such as the officially-designated gas guzzler 928. I'll need a photo with my 12KW solar installation in the background to show to disapproving gray-haired women in their Subarus with Coexist bumper stickers when I drive to Vermont.
Congrats on the car...do you mind posting how much you got off your Macan? I'm going to be looking to lease a Macan or Macan S in Jan 2018 and I plan on ordering it.
I went with the GTS with PTV. I wanted a better drive but I can see how a base version can be tempting. The only thing that would bother me with a base would be the smaller brakes. $7500 is not much in terms of Porsche money but with options it can run way higher.

I have a Base and love it. Ordered in late January. Got 6% off, MSRP was $63k. Took 10 weeks.
You will go and buy lots of expensive tools with which to work on your Porsches...
Lol, the tools are the cheap parts, having a 928 means putting way more into it than you are ever going to get out. The car and the community is what 928 ownership is all about for me ...

Not a lot, up here in the PACNW it is not like the East Coast and CA for discount, I got $1400 off for the 18 and could have got $2K off for the 17. Better than I got for my 981 Cayman, could not order from Spokane back then and Barrier in Seattle gave bugger all discount.

Interesting...heard that getting 5-6% off a 2018 ordered call in CA shouldn't be a problem.
I bought a 17 GTS in April and received about 9-10% off sticker. Initially went in with the intentions of getting an S. When I testdrove the GTS it was night and day difference. The air ride suspension, sport exhaust, 20” wheels makes the car. Added a Cobb Accessport and lowering end links and it woke the car up significantly.
