If done correctly there's nothing better than a wrap.

When it rains, a bra gets wet underneath (duh!) and, if the Sun comes out before you can remove it, you run the distinct possibility of affecting the paint. In addition, a bra at highway speeds can chafe the paint in spots due to buffeting.

I haven't seen a bra on a car manufactured after ~ 1998.

Do they still make them?

Wife said, don't get an under wire bra. It can chafe, as above, especially when wet...
she said specifically on MyCan's.
Hhahahhaha

I used to run a cloth bra/cover on my 944T in the 8o's. It shook at speed and sanded the finish, doing more harm than good. There was no such thing as 3M film back then. I four season, sun, sleet, salt, rain and snow all my cars. Never will I dawn any piece of cloth to protect its running finish.

We put Xpel on the Macan (and other cars now) when we got it (we opted for all over not just the front end).

Yes bras are still manufactured and used. See my avatar (2012 Porsche 997.2 w/ a Colgan bra installed). Now, at least you have seen one, LOL. Type 2

Xpel would be a better choice for paint protection. Suntek is another good brand.

As noted above, bras will hold moisture as well as move slightly against the paint - resulting in scratches. I used a bra only once on a 1988 BMW M5 I owned at the time (it was included in the sale when I bought it). After having it on the car for only a day or two, I was able to detect minute scratches where it rubbed against the paint.

I went with Xcel Ultimate on entire front end through my dealer where we bought the vehicle new. As a perk through dealer, i obtained a lifetime warranty on the film.

Just prior to install, the Xpel installer gave me the choice of stretching to get one full continuous piece on the large hood, which he did NOT recommend, or two small seems closest to the passenger and driver doors.

I was not happy with either, but went with the small seams.
My OCD found equal issue with either option.

But... doing nothing or shopping around for another Xpel dealer was not something i wanted to do or had time for anyways. No regrets so far since i have total protection, but i certainly notice the seems every time i walk up to the car.
