I'm about to order a Macan S and usually prefer smaller tires for their better ride quality and it doesn't hurt that they come standard and are less expensive to replace. However for 2016 both 18s and 19s are no-cost options. I like to look of the 19s a little more but not enough to sacrifice ride quality. Any opinions on 19' ride quality?
Also, my Cayenne has 18s and I note in the Owners' Manual a reference that 19s and 20s require spacers between the hub and wheel. Anyone know if Macan 19s use the spacers?
Thanks,
David

FWIW, we just installed the factory 19" Turbo (dual five-spoke) wheel package with Dunlop Winter tires on our Turbo and have been amazed at the ride quality. They're extremely quiet, responsive and a comfortable ride yet don't give up the firm, sporty character of the vehicle. In addition, the slightly narrower tires tend to match the aft area of the fenders such that they minimize paint rash. No spacers required.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to order 19s on Turbo wheels, a no cost option. The 19s have 5% less aspect ratio = about 1/2" less sidewall than 18s and, while likely a harsher ride, it shouldn't be by much - and as other have pointed out I think they look better.
However I'm disappointed to learn that all Macan rears are wider than the fronts in both 18" and 19" thus making it impossible to rotate for longer life. My Cayenne has the same size front and rear 18s that I rotate every 5,000 miles and the original set are going strong at 22,000 miles.

You're giving up contact patch by going with 18s or 19s - the 20s are 265/45 FR vs 235/55 and 295/40 R vs 255/50. Just make sure you want to substitute potential comfort gains for less grip.

Good advice. Mine has the 21s and the ride is nice. Don't worry about ride. I think the 20s r best, because replacement tires are more reasonable, and u can order with long lasting All Seasons or grippier Summer tires, no upcharge, as desired.

Surprisingly, the contact patches are a lot closer in size than you may think. The lower profile tires in the 20" and 21" sizes mainly alter the shape of the patch, not size. The lower profile tires have wider patches, but they are shorter front to back. And, of course, the sidewalls are lower. This gives you crisper turn-in, and less body roll, but not necessarily better grip. There is a point when going to larger and larger wheels to use ever lower profile tires actually results in worse rather than better handling. The larger the wheels, the heavier they are as well. Rotating, unsprung weight, such as in the wheels, can reduce the car's overall performance, handling, and ride. I'm not saying that 21" wheels are too big, but that's getting to the limit of diminishing returns.

NEED4S is spot-on. My back can tell you that the 19-inch wheels and tires are much lighter! The ride quality is much more compliant without giving up to much in the way of excellent, crisp steering response. Granted, the 21-inch Turbos look much more aggressive and sportier but, for Winter driving, we're quite pleased with the 19-inch package.
