What info did you get when you ordered?
The Macan S is the first Porsche I've ordered new so I have no experience with the process. Other than the "Build Sheet - Retail" what info did you get from the dealer? I was shown the prospective build/delivery schedule on the salesman's computer at the time of order but was wondering if there is a order/build tracking code Porsche provides to the customer?
Previous BMW's we ordered had a tracking system, wondering if Porsche does the same? Just curious.

The schedule you saw on the screen at the dealer is the only tracking mechanism. Your SA should keep checking it to make sure it hasn't changed (mine changed 3 times).

As Rolltide86 said, it seems typical for the schedule to change as things progress. It is an approximation that is subject to many factors that can impact it - usually, but not always, for the better. Some SA's seem more willing to provide a copy to you than others, perhaps because they know it will likely change frequently. I made a point of calling my SA every few weeks and asking him to give me any updated info.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting to hold them to that and would actually be (pleasantly) surprised if that schedule held up, just wondering if there was a way to get updates other than the salesman.

You'll have to stay in contact with your SA to keep track of your car's production progress. I send a polite email every two weeks or so asking for updates.
As others have said, it's normal for the date to slide forward or backward a bit. Mine has already missed the production date I was given when I placed my order, but I have a VIN number so it can't be that much longer.

typically with my clients I provide the build sheet along with a sheet showing the estimated delivery along with the freeze date of the vehicle in case they do decide to add any options. This sheet also has the vehicles unique commission number which is what we use to search the vehicle in our system and track its progress. unfortunately Porsche doesn't have a tracking system for customers. However once your vehicle exits production ask your SA to look up the vessel that your vehicle is being shipped on, at that point there is a way to track the vessel across the ocean. LMK if there is anything I can look into for you.

I received the schedule from lock, build, transport and delivery. Slipped by 1 week in build. Now extiting the plant Friday.

Congrats. My dates changed multiple times, and the car arrived 3 months after the original delivery date on the schedule. My case is clearly the exception, but that is why I recommend you check with your SA periodically to see if the schedule has changed - you will receive no notification, and you cannot track it yourself.
