Default Thought I'd Share My Macan S build

A true driver's build:

-white ext/black int
-21" wheels
-sport seats with heat
-pasm
-chrono
-ptv
-matte black window trim
-fire extinguisher (of course)

Getting rid of my '13 991s with pse for a car that is more practical :thumb up:

Anything I missed in interest of a driver's macan s?

Lose the 21", switch to 20" since they have same width tires and get the AS for the difference. The AS lowers the COG and improves handling, both traits worth of a driver's build .

for st.petes you will want ventilated seats and heat/sound resistant glass option.
Air suspension would be interesting too.

In FL, add ventilated seats, do keep 21" wheels, and switch to gloss black windows trim to match rear spoiler.

Excellent points by all-

Gloss black trim - thought this was delaying orders?

Ventilated seats - had those on a previous 997.2 - good idea I will add

AS - Not a fan of the AS in the cayenne so I figured I would just changeout the springs at some point to lower it a bit as I don't plan on doing any offroading

vented seats for sure. what about PSE?

I have AS on the Cayenne and do like it. I do have 21s and dont like the ride so I got some 20s as a back up.

Air suspension would be a better option for spirited driving than off-roading:

Much lower center of gravity and fine tuned suspension by Porsche would be my pick over an aftermarket solution for this car.

"It’s something you wouldn’t normally associate with this segment: air suspension including leveling system, ride-height adjustment and PASM. With this set-up, the Macan is 15 mm lower than with the steel spring suspension. The air suspension delivers even greater dynamic performance and comfort – and helps to keep the vehicle level constant."

Why did you say the 991S not a practical car? You are in FL so there is no snow.
What qualities in a Macan drove you to make this decision? I am debating between Macan S vs. 991 TT.
Yes, apples and oranges but thats how the game of elimination down to....

20's and AS I'd add to make it a better drivers car (20's because they're probably lighter, will handle the same and will absorb bumps better). And staying away from as many creature comforts that you don't need, that can add weight. IMO the base seats are a sportier choice than the 14 ways as not only are they most probably lighter, but the alcantara gives it that sporty feel that Porsche usually gives it's rawer offerings, i.e the GTS cars, GT3, etc. 18's ways are obviously the sportiest choice, though I imagine they way a bit more.

"Driver's car" is all relative when you are talking about a 4,200 pound compact SUV! I wouldn't worry too much about weight and worry more about being comfortable. Based on my Cayenne GTS (which is also not a track car ) experience I would avoid the 21's and go with the Air Suspension. Ventilated seats are a no brainer in a warmer climate.

sebis is spot on. 21" wheels are not a performance improvement anywhere except perfect track tarmack. Air suspension is a huge benefit for all roads.

21's are a detriment on the track. Just for show.
