Default possible dumb question

Is the Macan the same car as the audi q5, or sq5?

Shopping for my wife and want to test drive something of similar size

Similar size as it's a similar body shell. But not the same car. Driving an SQ5 should give you a good flavor of what a Macan S will be like. Then turn up the sportiness.

Macan Turbo has no equivalent.

They are the same platform just like the Cayenne/Q7/TReg are the same platform. As you can see with its big sister, though, there is still a world of difference between them based on how they are finished off.

+1 if you read the press; its the "same" basic chassis MLB that the VW group developed that the Q5 etc share, however there it ends ... engine, transmission, suspension, trim etc etc are all different... I agree S!5 will be closest experience
