Default GTS Turbo?

I just watched this video posted in another thread and it seems that Porsche is marketing the Macan as a beefed up sports car rather than a mini Cayenne. So if it's a sports car are they going to offer more sporty GTS and Turbo variants? Seems like a good idea to me.

Do you mean Turbo S? Using the 958 release cycle, Porsche did offer GTS and Turbo S variants a couple years after initial release, so it seems likely IMO.

No actually I meant Turbo. But I see they do have plans already for a Turbo version.

I would not be surprised if we saw either a GTS or a Turbo S at some point in the 2015/16 lifetime ... its clear that Porsche's strategy (esp with Cayenne and Panamera) is to offer a broad selection of models within a range...

I'd be up for either model!

I'm not sure if anyone else is like me, but I prefer the styling of the GTS variants over the turbos (997, 957, etc) but just prefer the turbo's get up and go. I hope Porsche could offer a GTS Turbo or something like a mix of the two, above both trims (maybe between a normal turbo and a turbo S). The only thing holding me back on a 957 GTS is the extra power and ease to modify 955/957 Turbo's.

I was talking to the dealer yesterday and asked about the Macan. We talked about a lot of other things but I believe he said the first model that will be available will be the Turbo S, followed eventually by the full lineup. If it wasn't the TS it was the Turbo. Kind of backwards to normal releases.

1st models available are the "Turbo" and the "S" ... probably diesel and 4-cyl to follow ... I guess there may be a "Turbo S" at a later stage since PCCB option is not yet available but is coming...

I'm guessing that'll be when the car gets refreshed three years down the line, that's what they did for the Cayenne, and Panamera at least.

Don't forget that both the "turbo" and the "S" are turbocharged engines. The turbo is 3.6L and the S is 3.0 liters but both are turbos. Seems a little strange, I might have called them the Turbo and the Turbo S but it doesn't really matter.

The S uses a turbo V6 and continues the trend of selling a turbocharged car/truck without using 'turbo' in the model name. Panamera S is the other and won't the upcoming Cayenne S also be a turbo V6?

Yup, I was referring to Porsche's model designations ... independent of the engine technologies...

My guess is PCCB being available in a year or two, and PSE availability in a year - Per Cayman. Though, my gut is telling me we'll see LED Headlights, PCCB, and PSE at the mid-cycle refresh.
