Question Sport Chrono, is it worth it?

Sport Chrono, is it worth it?

It brings another setting "Sport +" and makes it .2 seconds fater to 60.

That 0.2 is only with launch control. Honestly, when would you ever use that? Going to race some one off the light on Kuykendahl South at Flintridge before it turns into one lane? Lol

Nah, save your $$

Heh, that you mentioned, I could have used it the other day at this exact intersection when an ******* in a Infinity SUV almost run me over and he was supposed to yield.

Back to the topic, how about the Sport+ settings that supposedly "affects throttle characteristics, systems such as PSM and PTM". How about blipping the throttle on downshifts?

I have SC on my 991 C2S PDK. It already blips throttle on downshift in sport. Sport + just turn the car into a beast. Shifts are more violent and done near red line.

Launch control is garbage in any car that's not a race car.

I get it about launch control, I could never use it. What I am wondering about is the Sport+ setting. I guess I will have to wait for the first test drives and reviews.

I think SC is worth it. It is a Porsche.

Back on this topic, here is a video showing the Sport+ button: Sport activates for firmer suspension one level, Sport+ activates the second level on PASM and lowers the suspension. Skip to 1:04 if in a hurry.

I would get sport chrono on a Macan turbo, not bothering with it on my wife's Macan S. I have sport chrono on my 991 C4S, and it's not all that suitable for street driving in my opinion...certainly too aggressive when around other traffic. Sport+ mode (when in automatic) holds off shifting until near redline - that's a bit intense around town with other cars around.

How about in the country side, two lane roads having to pass in limited time due to visibility. Would it help or not?

Listen to that Turbo ... its AWESOME for a SAV ...

I personally think SC is worth it on the Turbo, not for LC, I would never use it. but for the Sport+ setting esp for PASM. Right now we have no idea what the "normal" or "sport" PASM settings are, I'm used to, and like firm suspension and great throttle response (neither of which I get in my X5) ... I wil be selecting SC in my Turbo spec ... and PCCB if its available.
