Alternator replacement
I have 2018 Macan base model with alternator message. Using my volt meter I confirmed just 12 volts across the battery with the car running .
therefore I want to replace the alternator . Has someone done this job ? Is is possible to go through the left wheel wheel and under the car to avoid the bumper and headlight removal and service position set up talked about on Google ai. Can it be wiggled out with all that ?
what alternator did you go with? Hoping a few can comment on this job and share their how to experience. Thanks in advance

Before you do anything. Double check that you really need to replace the alternator. Bring your Macan to any nationwide auto parts retailer, like AutoZone, and have them put their testing computer on it.
On Base models the alternator is right on top of the engine on the driver's (left) side. There is no need to remove or loosen any body panels. Disconnect the battery, release the tension on the serpentine belt via the idler pulley, remove the belt, remove the four bolts holding the alternator, unplug the electrical connections and you are done. Installation is reverse of what you just did.
