air suspension error
hello all !
i got a 2014 macan S diesel with air suspension.
i got few days ago , in the morning, after 2 nights out in the cold -10 degrees C, after i unlocked the car instead of the normal compressor sound and self leveling , it made a weird noise , the level didnt changed and after that i got a PASM error in de dash.
the compressor fuse in the trunk right side is blown.
those AI agents told me it could be due an moisture freeze in the air suspension system (compressor components or lines or something ). also told me to change the fuse and also the relay for the compressor.
this morning i put the car in a warm garrage ( if there is any ice so it could melt away) and later today ill go back and change the fuse and relay and see if the compressor works normally.
my question is : is that ice thing plausible ? the compressor couldnt move the air in the system and over worked and blue a fuse ? should i change the relay also ? or just the fuse ? i found the fuse but im not sure where the relay is located ( in the same place as the fuse-rear boot side or unde the dash in the left )?
hope i made myself clear and any advice is much welcomed !

The compressor relay in under dash, driver side, forward of your left knee (assuming Left-Hand Drive). There are some posts which show how to access it...not easy.

Following this as my 2024 Macan S went through a strange scenario last night also. Was parked outside in about 20F temps for about 4 hours and it was snowing. Put it in off road to raise the air suspension to drive out of parking lot, (why,? why not, I have it , lets try it). Strange noises and some shocks going up and down , after about 30 seconds , it stopped and error message on dash and it is safe to drive. It was an extremely rough ride. Stopped about a mile down the road and turned off car. Let it sit for 30 seconds and started back up and into normal mode and all was fine. No errors. Doesn't seem to have blown the fuse or relay. Parked in warm garage last night and this morning everything seems fine. I hope this isn't a common problem every time the temp gets below freezing.

Air condenses as it cools, and at a certain point the moisture can cool enough to turn to ice and can seize up the compressor. Sometimes you can get warnings if you are in Lowered mode and the air chambers shrink in volume and go below the sensor threshold. Its not common as far as I know, but more likely an issue for a vehicle that may sit awhile. Kinda like keeping water running in your pipes to keep them from freezing.
Does our air suspension use nitrogen to help prevent freezing? I have to go out of town this weekend and car will be outside. Nightime temps below 0 F, about -20 C . will see what happens
