I just bought a 2021 Macan GTS and it's pretty good with 375 hp, 2.9L twin turbo. It is my understanding this is the same engine as in the Macan Turbo.

Can I download a new tune to increase horsepower to the 440 hp the same as the Turbo? Any issues/risks?

Also, can I download a change to the exhaust note? My 2015 Boxster GTS sounds like an animal and this 2021 Macan GTS is more timid. I intentionally
never accepted a factory recall to quiet the Boxster down. I'm thinking the newer 2021 Macan GTS is set quieter. Can I download and reconfigure to make
this sound like it should??

I would go with a Techart or cargraphic rear section so you can use the stock pse button and tips. Then buy the Cobb accessport and add a flat 6 intake and the below tune. I would also do lowering links or a lowering module plus spacers.

I still have a 2 year bumper to bumper warranty, will that be impacted if I download a tune?

 

The Cobb tune will void your warranty. A diagnostic computer can see in the ECU data that it was installed.

The RaceChip box is a piggyback system. You install it and leave it installed all the time. If you have the need for a warranty claim you unplug/remove the RaceChip box and there will be no trace of it being there in the ECU data.

Neither tune will do anything for the exhaust note though a tune will put the engine into higher rev situations more often.

 

I’ve used and carried over my Cobb from 17 to my 20 gts that I bought through my dealer. Never uninstalled it for any service. There will be 2 vastly different opinions on tuning.

 

I am not talking about service.

I am tailing about warranty claims. If your ECU has been flashed with an aftermarket tune and you have major engines or transmission issues requiring big dollar warranty work that claim can be denied because of the tune. It is very well know situation. If you don't believe me Google it.

 

Has anyone had any experience using Thorton Chip Tuning? I'm thinking of trying it on my 2021 Macan GTS. My only hesitation is that it only costs $99. Compared
to other tuners like Cobb which cost 10 times that amount, I'm wondering if it can do what is says it can do?
