I hope I have read enough in here and other forums to be sure that this hasn't been discussed yet. I have a 2016 Macan S for about 2 years now. We went close to Vermont skiing at the end of last year and when we came back the PCM started acting up. As I am ok with doing some DIY on the car and generally I looked up what needed to be done and the needed tools, ordered everything and went on to swap my presumed bad HDD to a different SSD with 3.1 4.76 on it. Being sure that this was the issue I put everything back together, plugged in the fuse and got ready to celebrate. Oh well, I didn't
Since then I have taken it all apart again, checked my ribbon connections, booted the unit with no HDD etc. All had the same result, unit is rebooting with various intervals between reboots. Today, because it was a logical next step, I burned a usb stick with the pcm firmware and tried to start a update although the car is already 4.76 - Nothing happens. I don't have any computer left that has a DVD writer so that is still open. I think it is worth mentioning that I tried the handover procedure and it fails with the message "Reset failed".Please let me know if any of you have any idea of next steps I can take, I'd appreciate it!
After not finding anything regarding my issue I got a used PCM from E-bay and swapped it for mine. For now it works with all functions without recoding.
