I hit the exact same issue on macan 24. While browsing for a a bit i suddenly notice a pop up in the pcm chosing between usb and android auto. When i tapped android auto seems like its going to work but then its nada again. And its not easily replicable. Not sure how to fix it. Will drop the screen shot if it pops up again. Anything helps.

It's easily replicable if you factory reset the PCM5. After that, you will always get the fkn screen.
I tried wiping out every Bluetooth from the phone, then plugged the phone while in this screen
Tried setting up android auto in the phone, basically tried lots of things with no luck.

Seems I'll join the paid ones club.
Update, even with wireless aa dongle it doesnt work. Initially i thought my phone is the one with the issue since wired aa seems to have a problem with p8pro. At this point im more curious on how it works on some people

So, I ended up paying a guy in Vietnam (pretty good deal). He changed the pcm firmware and then did the coding. Now it's working like a charm!
I want to specially thank VROOOM5. He helped me a lot and was very patient with all my questions. Really nice guy!
Yes. Firmware is P9830 and region is ER (europe), same my car had from factory. (Im located in Chile, South America).
By the way, this was the final result

May I ask what the point is using a ugreen USB-Ethernet adapter and changing its ID to a D-Sub? Why not directly use a D-SUB?
Just asking because I have a D-SUB which I bought some years ago and used it to modify my PCM4. Was a while before MIB Toolkit was able to work on PCM4 from SD Card only. Never used it ever since.

You can. But looking, for some reason they are hard to find in the US right now, and any are all $50+ unless risking it on E-bay (and who knows what version you really get, or you get the right one). Which is still $30-40.
From what I've read, is has to not only be the e100, but the right version of it.
And the UGreen is like $15, so it makes more sense cost-wide for most. But if you already have one go for it.
