This is probably just a newbie question, especially because I don't see any other posts about it...
How does one manually activate the surround view display, when say pulling into a parking spot, etc. 75% of the time it activates automatically, but that extra 25% of the time when I want to see how close I am to something, I am not sure how to activate it manually!
On the right side of the multi-function steering wheel there's a button with a star on it. This can be programed to fast track one function including surround view. Instructions to set up are in the manual under "Vehicle Settings...What do you want to do".

That’s what I did too. Bummer there’s no actual button for it like in my sister’s Audi ETron.
I have it programmed to the diamond button on the steering wheel.
It self-activates based on what the proximity sensors pick up which of course varies by the height of the obstacle except for when reversing, then it defaults to reverse camera view to satisfy US federal regulations.
There is also a button on the roof consol that allows you to turn on the parking cameras. I use my diamond button to forward tracks since this doesn't have a separate button on the 2020 Panamera
Is it possible to enable the surround view functionality through SW if your spec didn’t come with 360 view option? I’m assuming hardwares are already in a base Cayenne is you have the lane assist functionality.
The LKA - the wa-wa warning - uses the front facing camera to see the lane separation lines, so it has nothing to do with surround view. As for enabling surround view with a software fix, I believe that surround view uses different mini-cameras mounted to the body of the car, which were not included in the pre 2024 (?) build unless you optioned them.

You are right, I don't have the front-facing giant hideous camera/sensor (really dislike that new look) in my 2019. The LCA (Lane Change Assist) sensors are most likely mounted on the side mirrors.
I guess I'm not the only one who thought to configure the diamond button to bring up surround view. I like using the button vs finding the option on the screen because I can easily activate it while pulling into a tight spot without looking away from what I'm trying to avoid running into.

My sales person programmed it for me when I picked up the car without me even asking. He said a lot of people like it and showed me how to change it if I don't. I use it all the time.
