I just purchased a used Macan s from Porsche dealer with a two year Porsche certified program. 2 weeks ago.
it made a funny sound when turning wheel.
I also have a 911, that I drive once every one to two weeks.
here’s the story:
three weeks ago, the 911 had low pressure in one rear wheel. I filled with air.
then on Sunday, I got in the 911 and it had pressure down to 30.
i removed the wheel and put in rear compartment of the Macan. Yesterday I went to work, hoping to drop the 911 wheel off at the dealership.
i got off work at 5:30, and service had left
but I still drove the Macan to the dealer and met the manager of sales. I know the people there since I’ve dealt with them since 1997.
I dropped off the wheel with him and then got in the macan
turned it on and it had flashing “power steering failure”
I tried to back it out but no way!
I pulled back in and the manager came out and saw me looking under the hood
i showed him the error
left the vehicle there and took an Uber home.
luckily, I have two sets of wheels for the 911
so I still have a vehicle to go to work in
anyone ever heard of this power steering failure before???
seems very odd to me

On my previous Macan S Diesel of similar vintage, I had the power steering failure light come on with a couple of others (ABS failure was one of them). As we were on holiday and a long way from home and a Porsche centre, I continued driving carefully but noticed no problem with actual operation. When we reached our destination I phoned my local Porsche centre and they assured me it was probably sensor failure.
Next day, the problem seemed to have disappeared but after an hour or so the lights came on again. This pattern was repeated for the next week or so until we got home and had the problem sorted out under warranty - it was a sensor problem.
I hope your problem is as straightforward.
