PCM3 head unit upgrade to PCM4
Apologies if I’m repeating an earlier post, does anybody know if this hardware upgrade is reasonably do-able?
Ie by acquiring a used PCM4, beyond the easy stuff such as the physical insertion, is it a straightforward task to swap out the PCM3?

hello 911fiddler,
yes, this is possible, I am doing it on my 2015 991.1 gts.
you can watch and call here.
https://www.nmautomotive.co.uk
Nick is great and takes care of everything:
recovery of pcm 3.1;
reprogramming of your instrument cluster that you must send to him;
coupling of the instrument cluster to the new pcm 4;
supply of cables;
Disadvantage: you no longer have access to the mapping from the instrument cluster,
Advantage: it has a different look, and everything is factory:
I would have a 991.1 with a leather sports steering wheel and a seat that doesn't look like it came straight from the Middle Ages.
Good road.
Arnaud

The translations are incomprehensible...
I received my equipment this week, it will be installed next week.
Nick sent me two videos via Vimeo of assembling my existing cluster, with my new pcm 4
Note that I have neither Bose nor Burmeister, but the basic sound of the gts (no optics).
It's supposed to be plug and play.
The constraint is to send the cluster to Guernsey for an upgrade.
he buys you your PCM,
sells you a pcm 4, which he reprograms and installs the latest cards.
he will tell you this better than me.
