I have an iPhone 13 Pro and the Gts has the communication button on the end of the stalk. I plug the phone into the connection in the center console. It intermittently brings CarPlay up or not. Sometimes the stalk button will work and I can make voice commands and sometimes not. Got sick of it and bought a “ magic box” which should wirelessly connect tot the phone. Also partially worked sometimes or will go out when you need it most. Usually have to reset the tuner when this happens. Went back to the cord but equally frustrating. Any better solutions to have a solid CarPlay experience?

My experience has been much smoother than yours on my 2018 GTS. My only issue is that the PCM is slow to recognize my phone when first plugged in. Other than that, CarPlay works pretty flawlessly for me. Have you tried a hard reboot of your phone and resetting the PCM?
