I am looking at a 2023 GTS but it comes with the GTS Sport Package and this will be my wife's New Jersey Daily driver so I either need snows or all-seasons. If I wanted to go all-seasons Tire rack recommends CONTINENTAL EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06 PLUS over the Pilots. Any thoughts? My wife isn;t going to be hitting the corners too hard!
Thumbs down on the Contis, I'd go with the Michelins all day every day. I've had various Continental tires on 3 different cars over the years and disliked all of them... on the Macan in particular they were terrible in terms of tramlining and road noise.
Your best bet is to run a dedicated set of winter wheels + snow tires but understand that might not work in your situation. For me, I have a set of 20" GTS replica wheels + Michelin PA4 tires and it is an unstoppable combo. PA4 has since been replaced by the PA5 which I will eventually upgrade to.
Michelin all day. I have had several sets of Conti DWSs on other cars. They are great but they always wore out way too early. No set ever made it more than 20K miles before they were down to the wear bars.
I have Conti ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus (265/40/21) on my SQ5 and am very happy with them. Driven about 12000 miles on them so far, seem to have decent treadlife and good handling response.
I will be soon buying a set for my Macan. If you upsize a small amount (315/35/20, 275/40/20), they are significantly cheaper than the less common stock size (295/40/20, 265/45/20).
The larger sizes are slightly wider (10mm to 20mm), but are within 2% of the circumference of the Porsche standard size. The set of four is about $1250 from Tirerack.com, includes Tax, and shipping.
The stock Porsche sizes (for 20 inch) are about $272 more for the set of four.
I just realized that the GTS has 21 inch tires......and the DWS06 is not made in a size for the front tires.....nevermind........

I just took delivery of a 2022 GTS. It came with Michelin PS all season 4 from Porsche. These are listed as OEM fitment, so check what's coming on you car. I wanted PS 4 summer tires instead but had to buy them after. You will be very happy with the Michelin AS 4, the handling of these tires is next to phenominal. You won't believe they are AS. Tire Rack is pushing the Conti's because (IMHO) the Michelins are out of stock.
Who makes the replica wheels if I wanted to go w the snow option ?? Thanks!
They are relatively easy to find around here (Toronto) but you'd need to find an independent wheel + tire place that can source them. Around here the widely available brand is ART and the 20" GTS model is the ART Replica 98. You can get them at a ton of places here and I'd assume they are available anywhere snow tires are sold.
They are actually quite good quality too, had zero issues with them over 4+ winters and they balance perfectly.

I was thinking to get a set of summer wheels for the warmer months...But have been happy overall since February of this year. I know we havent had much snow.

I have 20” Spyders. Just had Michelin Pilot Sports mounted. I find they feel like balloons compared to Goodyear Asymmetrics of which I had multiple sets. Stiffer side walls. A little noisy but not too bad. That’s what the volume **** is for.

My GTS came from the factory with the German-made Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics, and at 10K miles I’m pretty happy with them. Can you please elaborate on your comment about the Michelins feeling like balloons? Just interested in how the tires compare.

Ok. My 2020 Mercedes C63S coupe came with Michelin SS’s. I found that I had to increase tire pressure by 3-4#’s to have a ride similar to Conti Extreme Sport Contact tires. Stiffer sidewalls. A poor analogy is like pushing down on a balloon with your hand. The balloon rolls. That’s the feeling on the new Michelin tires compared to the Goodyear tires.
I have a set of snows on aftermarket wheels from Tire Rack that I am never going to use again. Located in Northern Virginia. 20" size (not staggered). Will take a best offer for them for a Rennlister. Fits Macan and Audi Q5. Used two seasons. These were $ 2,200 new from Tire Rack, just sitting in my basement now. Bridgestone Bilzzaks size 255/45/20 on Breyton Alloy Wheels.
Can they be shipped? Yes, but don't ask for free shipping....done at cost of Boxes and Actual UPS charges or Freight Truck (No, I don't know what it will cost to ship!)
My 2022 GTS was supposed to come w/ summer only tires. I bought snow tires and wheels for the first winter. When I removed the summer wheels it turns out the car shipped with Pirelli all-seasons LOL.
I've had good luck with several sets of DWS 06's on BMW's. I did just put Michelin's on my S-Works Tarmac SL8 though, because Conti discontinued the GP5000 TL (and, because my Macan has Michelin's).

I’m also considering the DWS06 plus for my 2015 Macan S, for when I replace the Pirelli Scorpion Verdes that are currently on it.
I’d be interested in your thoughts regarding the Contis on the Macan, both with how they work with this particular vehicle, and whether the additional width (if you decide to shift from the original size) causes any issues.
I have the DWS06’s on my ‘04 MINI Cooper S (2-sets now) and absolutely love them.
