Hey everyone, I’m soon going to be the proud owner of a new to me 2015 Macan turbo, other than the common issues (timing cover, pdk, transfer case) what are some things you vets know now that you wish you knew when you first got your Macan ? ( or any Porsche).

I’m coming up on 70k on my 2018 Turbo. So far the TCC leak fixed the right way. A fried alternator from the leakage, an A/C line. A rear washer leak all covered under warranty. And that’s it! Rock solid.

Congrats, HeyBenji! We've owned ours for eight years and have no complaints. It's a very competent, capable and comfortable vehicle. Enjoy every excuse to get in and drive it. The Internet with forums like this one and YouTube videos have made DIY owners like me quite pleased. "Knowledge is power!".

Default Know before you go (get a Porsche dealership PPI)...

I found the following things, post purchase, no PPI from Porsche dealership, with our 2018 GTS, 38,000 miles:
1. Windshield severe hazing - not sure how this happened (hard water?) but needed replacement.
2. Aftermarket brakes - not super good at stopping this beast so replaced them with OEM. Stops like it should now.
3. Cam Cover oil leak - replaced under warranty.
4. Leather Dash lifting - replaced under warranty.
5. Air Suspension error code - replaced sensor under warranty.
6. PDK Shifter chrome cracked - replaced under warranty.

The Porsche Dealership (Porsche Clearwater) on running the VIN discovered the Extended Warranty. This was missed by the BMW Dealership selling the car and sold me an extra extended warranty.

Good news is she's now all buttoned up and running like she should!

Bottom line is these are expensive cars to fix so make sure you get a PPI from a Porsche Dealership and if the car your looking at doesn't have one, get an extended warranty!

Really good information. Thanks for pulling it together and sharing it.

One additional thought regarding the initial break-in. When running the car at higher speed on the highway, occasionally let off of the accelerator and let the engine speed gradually slow down. Internal vacuum within the engine will bring more oil into the upper parts of the engine giving them additional lubrication.

Vary your speed while in "break in" on a highway trip (no cruise control)
