Porsche upgraded the cooling for the Transfer Case
From 2020 V6 models onward, seems that Porsche has added an air duct to better cool the AWD Control Module/Actuator of the Transfer Case. Perhaps this is an easy add to older Macans, to prolong the life of the Control Module. Odd, since failures of the Control Module seem rare, compared to the mechanical failure of the transfer case clutches.
My guess is that with the hot-V Audi V6 engines, the hot air from the high mounted catalytic converter was heating up the Control Module. The cat sits right behind the engine, above the "bellhousing" of the transmission.
It looks like the curved black plastic duct to the module is a new part, and the lower black plastic bottom cover was modified with a scoop that directs the airflow upward into the curved duct.
