You do not need any coding, all features will work straight way. The only difference between with coding and without coding is the colour display for drive mode on the right side of the cluster.
The one with coding , you can see drive mode on the right side of the cluster but the one without coding you can only see that in the middle of the cluster. But it will not affect any functionalities.

What is the "Performance Display"? I can't find any info on that in the Sport Chrono package features on Porsche.com.

It only shows the performance view, but you have the same view in instrument cluster already. Some car has it in pcm as well
