Default WARNING about a CHINESE COMPANY

BUYER BEWARE
I decided to buy a clock set up for my 991 (pretty much the same as other P cars)
....GREAT......I found what looked like a really nice set up from a company in CHINA
that replaces the "blank" center of the dashboard if your car did not come with a factory clock
*********** AliExpress ********************,,,
From the description and pictures it looks to be a replica of the O/E clock and surround that PORSCHE uses ($400)
UNFORTUNATELY...................they sent the WRONG PART
They would replace the part, but they want me to send back what they sent
FINE, BUT after MANY requests to send a PREPAID SHIPPING LABEL they NEVER REPLIED
I took the package to UPS and was quoted $200 + to send it back ...so at this point I'd have paid for the original (wrong) item and another $200
to return it with NO GUARANTEE that I would EVER GET THE CORRECT PART
I now have a ****** SCREEN and WIRE HARNESS******* that I have no idea what it is for
SO, just keep this in mind if you order any parts from this company, they,,,,,, DO NOT HAVE CUSTOMER SERVICE

DO THE RIGHT THING

So, you never mentioned the name of the company...only that you ordered it on AliExpress (AliExpress is an intermediary, not the seller).

Ok, so my next questions is, if you ordered this for a 991 911, why did you post this in the Macan group?

Did you involve AliExpress with the dispute?

I've had some good results ordering from China over the years, most recently with some parts for the Macan to replace/cover a lot of the plain black plastic.

I've used AliExpress but mostly eBay for their stronger policies however sellers that were involved in any issues were prompt to remedy the issue. I've actually only had to involve eBay with domestic USA sellers.

Most importantly, I consider anything received in good condition from China a blessing and was always prepared to lose 100% of my purchase for the reward of a unique and value priced item otherwise not attainable domestically.

As I noted, after many requests Ali Express never answered my request to prepay the return shipping, They did send emails, but every time I asked for a PREPAID shipping label they DID NOT REPLY
Ordering from Chinese companies is a gamble...just bear that in mind
PS I am finished with this thread

So you only reached out to AliExpress and not the seller? Who is "they" referring to in your initial post? I assumed the seller but I'm not sure if you actually tried to reach out to them or AliExpress.

The proper protocol is to deal with the seller first and then if things go sour or unresponsive, get AliExpress involved and they typically have a policy to help you out.
