2022 Macan S: More Aggressive Pad Options?
Hi all
As a usual GT car driver, I am definitely more used to a strong bite in my brakes. This is usually achieved with more aggressive (street or track) pads. While I will not compare the braking power of a GT car to a Macan S, the concept is somewhat the same. That said, I'd like to know what others may have found as good, more aggressive street pad options for the Macan S. Any first hand experience and wear characteristics greatly appreciated.
TIA.

I don't own an S. I own an '18 Turbo bought new. For many years, I've always modded the suspension first. This includes braking. The stock pads are dusty just by their nature. For me, I wanted to run EBC Red Stuff which are ceramic pads. Unfortunately, based on weight and rotor size, the best I could do was EBC Yellow Stuff. To enhance braking capability more, I also upgraded to Goodridge Teflon coated SS brake lines and fresh fluid. I have no complaints. I have three qualifers for pads: must stop good cold (meaning I don't need for the pads to reach a high temperature), little to no dust and quiet. These pads meet all three qualifiers. Hope this helps.

Interesting, because the first thing I noticed about my S was the instant bite of the brake pads. Much more bite than my 911. I’ve had to temper my braking or it will throw me forwards.

@///Bruce Thanks. Have read others also liked EBC Yellow.
@ilovemaui I think it's all relative and depends on what you're used to. GT cars with track pads bite pretty hard. I have ST ceramic rotors and more aggressive pads on my GT2. By comparison, I felt the stock brakes in my 991.2 GTS were fair. I consider the Macan S's bite slightly softer than my 991's.

Back in the day having made my rounds through Hawk and EBC pads on my speed 3...none ever had the bite of OEM pads, sure they dusted less and had a more linear feel and wouldn't fade as quickly, but if bite is what you're after...track pads are almost always worse.
