Default Macan Timeline | Updates???

I know the Macan EV is just around the corner.

And I've heard the ice version will remain on sale along side of the new Macan EV for a period of time.

Has anyone heard of any details on if a refresh is also coming for the ice version and when?

For example the Cayenne got a pretty significant refresh this MY including a digital instrument cluster.

Anyone have info???

ICE version went through a really minor revamp for ‘22+ (maybe ‘23) that has the new front end and different controls on the middle console.

I would say we will see some deliveries of a new Macan sometime in late ‘24. EV will probably just be a trim level if they decide to keep the Macan branding for it.

Highly unlikely that anything new will show up this fall, as that doesn't jive with Porsche's production schedule, which usually sees new models / refreshed models starting production in summer, which means they'd have likely announced it already. If there are any changes coming to the ICE Macan (other than colors), they probably wouldn't be until the MY25 vehicles.

Yes, hence why I said late ‘24. It is 2023 right now. Sorry if that wasn’t clear, but I was speaking towards ‘25 models landing in ‘24.

Timing aside, Porsche has a huge EV push going on across all fronts. Curious to see how it lands given the new price points vs their competition.

Oops, I did miss that, sorry. Possibly announcement fall '24 (but I would guess spring '25) for a summer '25 release, if anything.

There's a part of me that wonders if they'll do a crazy edition of the Macan at that point (the Macan equivalent of the Cayenne Turbo GT) since it'll be the last gen of ICE Macan (potentially).

Although I do think the 2030 / 2035 dates for no more ICE car sales are super optimistic and unrealistic.

I remember back when the U.S. announced its conversion to Metric schedule in 1975. How’s that going? The EU has already backed off its previously announced electric conversion schedule. Electric conversion is fraught with issues. I’m not saying nothing will happen for 50 years but ICE cars should remain viable for some time. Porsche’s ICE vehicles will continue to evolve, notwithstanding what’s been reported.

I think Porsche will come in with its EV macan at the high end - so if anything I would expect the EV Macan to either come in at the same level or above the current GTS at around 85-95k. It would probably be easiest from their perspective to have the EV Macan be a low volume vehicle, and for it to slot in above the GTS as a turbo equivalent, and for it to start at about 95k. Based on that vehicle's success/their ability to ramp production/manage vehicle issues - then they might move it further down the line one model at a time. Given that they just refreshed the Macan for '22 AND that they are expecting to replace it with the EV model, I wouldn't expect another refresh/facelift/adjustment until 2025 at the earliest.

I believe for the cayman/boxster, the volumes are so low that they're willing to forego the revenue they would generate from the base models of those cars. With the Macan, it is one of the pillars of their business, so they will need to produce both ICE/EV models simultaneously until they can bring production costs for the Macan down and fully replace the ICE model.
