Default Dustless pad change over

I am thinking about changing over to "Dustless" pads on my 22 S, at 9000 miles would it be a problem to just change the pads and not do anything about rotors?
Cleaning wheels is a MAJOR PIA... and dirty wheels make even a clean car look dirty

Unless you have a significant ‘lip’ at the top edge of the rotor due to excessive wear you should be good.

Then you’re good. Remember to buy two new caliper bolts. One per side. And a pair of wear sensors.

Wear sensors at 9000 miles are most likely fine and do not require replacement.
The front pads don't require caliper removal and hence no bolt replacement

We talking about Porsche Macans? Regarding brake sensors, unless you know what you’re doing there’s a good chance you’ll break one. They’re delicate.

Please let us know which pads you end up with, fitment for the Macan is a problem.

Low Dust pads are easily available for a Base Macan, as it uses Audi Q5 front calipers and pads, which are much more common.
The Rear pads on most Macan models are the same, and available in low-dust versions.

For anything other than a Base, finding low dust front pads will be difficult.

We do not make the pads for your vehicle. It’s for one of two reasons-either there are not enough of your model still on the road or the pads are too large for our tooling.

Tooling to make pads is very expensive, so when deciding which aftermarket pads to produce, we look at the number of vehicles still in operation.

Thank you,

Thank you Cordie!!! I've noticed that on my Macan S the front calipers are indeed quite large so that may be the reason you don't have a fitment in our case. Too bad, I've used your pads on several other vehicles and really like them, they are my first go to pad!

I received my ordered Macan S last March and a few weeks later changed the pads to Power Stop from Rock Auto. Also got a couple of wear sensors just in case, but didn’t need them. Front pad part number is 161349, rear pad is 161547. Total cost for all was $129.48 including tax and shipping.

It took about an hour to change them out. I had no trouble with caliper bolts, nor did I replace them. These pads are virtually dust-free and seem to perform similarly to the OEM’s.

That’s correct. Mine is a ‘22 Macan S with standard 20” wheels and 360/330 mm rotors.
